(Yes, it is the legit page for the Sheriff's office)

Here's a news article with some of the funny messages:

Oconee County Sheriff's Office hilariously urges people to stay off roads

OCONEE COUNTY, Ga. - The Oconee County Sheriff's Office really wants drivers to stay off of the dangerous, icy roads.

The sheriff's office posted several messages on Facebook to drive home the point.

Here are some of our favorites:

"You can't wreck if you aren't on the road."

QOTFD (Queen of the Front Desk) Melody is the official distributor of medium density energy bars (MDEB-i.e. Cookies) throughout the week.

Someone, and I do not know who, replaced the original decorative decanter with this little plastic, overbearing, and rather annoying plastic police officer with a 70s vibe haircut and the attitude of Robert Blake in the movie Electra Glide in Blue.

Up to this point, K9 Aki has had to put forth very little effort to collect crumbs and such that fall on and near the table.

There is a new cop in town, and Aki is annoyed.

(Legal Disclosure and annoying incessant comment warning: I already know that dogs cannot eat chocolate, sugar, people-food, people, children, other pets, caffeine, chocolate, raspberry hard candy, butterscotch hard candy, tootsie rolls, things that are not toxic to people but are toxic to dogs, Lincoln logs, Legos, steel pot scrapers, dish towels, and laundry detergent in any form including Tide Pods, and police officers. Aki is healthy, happy, attacks on command, loves scratches behind his left ear, and naps. From this point on, I would appreciate no comments that scold, berate, warn, or annoy me in regard to your extreme knowledge of all things that dogs cannot eat, do, drive, surf, climb, cross-fit, laugh about, talk about, bark about, whine about, or that belching, farting, coughing, scratching, or driving a car with a standard transmission can cause harm to a dog, your dog, my dog, their dog, anyone's dog. Aki is fine and perfectly happy and does not need a new collar, ballistic vest, toys, balls (well, maybe there was a stressful visit to the vet) kongs, ropes, shoes, neckties, food, hats or shampoo. Thank you, signed, "Lt. Cottons Lawyer")

Keep your hands to yourself, leave other people's things alone, and be kind to one another.

We will be here. With a talking cookie jar.

TC

I had the pleasure and the honor of meeting and training with some of the Oconee County Sheriffs at a Rangemaster Instructor class there a few years ago.

Chief Weems and the other officers there are one of the best groups you will ever encounter. They are a Class act and a fun bunch. (Damn good shooters too btw)

If I were a younger man, I would apply for Deputy in that department.

And, thanks to the other link, I must add seeing the Duck of Justice to the bucket list.

Maybe there’s a Duck of Justice commemorative t-shirt somewhere.... oh, there is.
