We bought in the Villages and are just there a few weeks per year until we retire. Anyhow, she is there a week before I can get down there. We liked it there because of all the social life. So I thought it was funny when she complained about neighborly shit. Here's the text...

We’re down in Arizona right now. I had back surgery last week and it’s a great place to work on recovery, since walking is what the doctor ordered. This is a golf/retirement community and the “souped up golf cart” comment sure caught my attention. I can’t believe how fast those things are nowadays! I wonder how many people are killed or injured seriously by, or on, those things.

So the cat was found. I got the full story. Cat was declawed by some guy in the neighborhood and then he found out he was allergic and apparently just dumped it outside. People have been giving it food for a week before others heard the story and went out tonight to find it. They did find it and brought it to a shelter. I'd kick that guys ass if I knew who he was. What an asshole. Cat was lucky. Declawed cats don't last long outside.

Anyhow, already have the souped up golf cart. I think the blue is a bit too bright. But the wife liked it and it was discounted as new 2024 models were arriving.

The golf cart speed limit is 20. They generally come with a governor that only lets them get up to about 22 tops. The governor can be adjusted. But if you are caught going over 25 you can be fined as that would make it a "low speed vehicle" which requires safety features and registration. When we rented a placed down there, while buying our house, the cart with the rental went 28. I was scaring the old folks with it. LOL

Anyhow here's my cart...

Don’t forget your bath loofah to hang on your golf cart… I guess that’s something that describes your level of “social” participation.

I know one guy who takes off-lease golf carts (lots of large institutions lease them, apparently., and combines 2 motors off them, and 2 sets of batteries, and sells them to farmers.

Apparently, it's fairly simple, and provides excellent range/hill climbing power - not sure about the speed.

If you don’t mind me asking, did ya’ll buy a new house or a resale? We have been looking at the Winslow model down there but still not sure. We definitely want a patio villa for our little dog to have a fenced backyard.
