Partial dichotomy |
From the changes I've seen in Fetterman, I'd like to remain hopeful he'd consider making the change. After he sees the continued BS of his party, he might end up being receptive to the idea. Trying to see the positive in this.

Maybe more Dems should have strokes? What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

Could be helpful, it will either force them to quit, or rewire their brains for conservatism like it may have done for Fetterman. It certainly couldn't make them any worse than they are, though I gave up thinking it couldn't get any worse a while ago. Lover of the US Constitution Wile E. Coyote School of DIY Disaster

I'm fine w/ Fetterman 2.0 He rebooted nicely after the stroke. I think he's running w/ a lot less far left malware. He seems like an old school Dem so he's neither here nor there.

Sane and Democrat is an oxymoron. The “sane” part is the “oxy”, therefore the “Democrat” part is the “moron.” Fetterman is an ally only to the extent our enemies’ enemies fight with us. They are not necessarily a friend. Nice is overrated "It's every freedom-loving individual's duty to lie to the government." Airsoftguy, June 29, 2018

I used to think the way he dressed was disrespectful. But now I actually think it's his trademark, his persona, much like a man wearing cowboy boots and hat. In that dark hooded sweatshirt with his shaven head, he looks like a medieval monk. Sometimes the shorts are a little much, so thank heaven it's winter! ... stirred anti-clockwise.

. Check the videos. He was wearing shorts to the inauguration and reports are it was single digit temps. Cowboy boots and a hat can be business professional and even black tie. Ted Cruz wears boots with a suit. And different regions can have their version of acceptable. Hawaii for example. At least a sport coat and dress shirt and trousers. I’ll live with no tie. He just looks like a slob. It is the US senate after all.

I'll take Fetterman any way he dresses over Schumer, Schiff, and the like, dressed in their suits and ties, any day. ... stirred anti-clockwise.

I don't know if he has moved, or if this is just another case of the Democratic party moving so far left that he has begun to appear moderate. "The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people." "Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy." "I did," said Ford, "it is." "So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?" "It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want." "You mean they actually vote for the lizards." "Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course." "But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?" "Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."

Regarding Fetterman's clothing choices: The guy came from money and he was a trust fund kid. This image is a carefully crafted one; that he is just a working class slob trying to make ends meet and he's one of us when in fact he's well off and can afford a dozen custom suits if he wanted. The excuse I heard that he can't find one to fit him because he's big and tall is BS I thought the choice to wear that hoodie and shorts at the Inauguration was disrespectful and dumb but if he can switch to becoming an Independent or Republican and help our side in crucial votes, that's all that matters.

Have you seen pictures of Sam Bankman-Fried? There are lots of rich slobs. Dressing well has nothing to do with whether you can afford it or not. If you are a Senator, you can afford dozens of nice suits. It's a choice. Yes, it's an image he chooses, but it's mostly just lazy. I don't really care what he wears at home, or in his district, or even when he gives interviews. But on the floor of the US Senate, he should wear a jacket and tie. It's just respectful. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

Totally agree. Chuck You Schumer let him dress like a slob, for some reason Senator Thune has let that continue.

I don't trust Fetterman. He does sound reasonable at times, but stands behind the Democrats and votes in lock step with them most of the time.
