Who cares? These new cartoons are going to suck regardless of if they can have guns or not.

They have a fundamental misunderstanding of what made Looney Tunes great so nothing is gonna fix that.

No one will remember this in 2 years, just like no one remembers the other handful of worthless restarts.

It's going to be a wild, wacky show where each character works to show who can virtue signal the hardest!

Sam: Hello Wabbit. May I ask what pronouns you prefer?
Bugs: Thank you for asking Sam, I prefer Xi, which pronoun do you prefer?
Sam: Xi, that is very respectful for you to ask about my pronouns, but I prefer not to publicly state them.
Bugs: I completely respect that Sam and ask that you forgive me for asking, I did not intend to cause you any anxiety. May I show you a safe place where you can go to recover from my inappropriate question?
Sam: Thank you Xi, I will now go to my safe space and think about how colonial oppression caused all of this and how we need reparations to atone for all of our sins.
Bugs: That is a great idea Sam, we need to defund the police while simultaneously taking away the right of the people to defend themselves. That way the historically oppressed will feel safe expressing their pent up rage by destroying cities and property and the oppressers can stand by and bow down praising them for expressing their feelings that way.
Sam: I will update my social media profile before I enter my safe space with a new picture that shows how much I care and how vituous I am and scold anyone who expresses anything but total support for my current social cause.

<Cue zany music as scene fades to commercial>

My favorite cartoon is (or was) the classic Tom and Jerry.
Hanna / Barbera produced them originally and they won Academy Awards.
Gone now or altered drastically. Deemed racist.

I suppose they'll take away his speech impediment, too, because it denigrates folks who have one.

I watched 2 or 3 episodes of this with my boys the other day (5 and 3 y.o.) They were great and I didn't think anything of Fudd not having a gun.

I'm gonna vote for the funniest frog with the loudest croak on the highest log.

How old are you? Did you watch the old ones as a kid?

No, I completely understand the point. It is hypocrisy and virtue signalling and everything else Hollywood and Liberals in general constantly do. It's just not surprising and not worth getting worked up over. It's old hat. And, in this case, it doesn't really change anything about the efficacy of the cartoon in accomplishing its goal: making little kids laugh.

I predict the new genre of hollywood releases will be animated with voice overs by liberal actor hypocrites (think liam neeson as a jackass). All recorded from the 'safety' of their gated mansions.

I'm not certain about this, but I don't think children were the intended audience of the original Looney Tunes cartoons that were produced prior to 1969. However, I know I watched quite a few of them when I was a child. I think they ran them on Saturday mornings.

Apparently there were some original cartoons that were quite racist.

It doesn't surprise me that if they are targeting children with them they would be modified from the original. When I think back I am quite shocked at the amount of violence I was watching as a child.

With that said, I would love to have the full set available to watch again. I loved the Road Runner ones.

According to Wikipedia (take it for what it is worth), many Hispanics protested the removal of Speedy Gonzales. I'm not surprised. I thought Speedy was one of the coolest characters.

Edit: Wasn't there an episode of South Park where Cartman and fighting Osama Bin Laden and parroting a Bugs Bunny episode?
