LZ English ca. May 1969: One of my very few fire bases in a flat area - maybe three out of twenty plus. Actually one of the very few accessible by duce-and-a-half, and only one of four that had a flag (counting the Special Forces camp at Plei Mei).

LZ English had two – one old and one new. We were out in the open and the NVA already had us zeroed, so what the hell – fly the flags. Wink

Take care.

Great Karma, Q! Please don't include me, but I did find a wonderful example of Americana while looking for something else. This belongs to my co-Grandpa LeRoy; I could have shown his '32 Ford coupe or roadster build. Or his 172. Rock solid American is LeRoy.

My son LOVES the American flag. He buys them, he wears them, he cherishes them. He stands for the national anthem, even when it's on tv.

Sometimes I have to tone him down and ask him to at least wear one regular piece, like jeans instead. He hasn't found any flag shoes yet but the socks, watch and sunglasses are there.

No jive on the flag code. He doesn't know any better and I'm not going to take his joy away.
