That is a Bomarc missile that used to be at the USAFA visitor center. 39 years later, I retired from the Air Force at Peterson AFB. Right outside the museum where I retired was this exact same missile (it had been moved to Peterson years ago).

Thanks for the opportunity. Main Street of yesteryear always leaps to my mind when I think of "Americana", but in the end I've always thought of the Westward Expansion as the ultimate testament to the spirit and courage that has been the core of America's psyche.
