Election Day 2025: NYC Voters Disturbed by 'Insane' Ballot Format That Appears to Favor Mamdani

Independent New York City mayoral candidate Andrew Cuomo has generated some late momentum.

Having received both an endorsement from President Donald Trump and surprisingly strong polling numbers from the nation’s most accurate pollster, the state’s former Democratic governor appears poised to make a serious run at socialist and Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani, the race’s overwhelming favorite.

How unfortunate, therefore, if Cuomo sees his chances diminished by what one social media user called an “insane” ballot format.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

No surprise here. They always seem to write ballot initiative type questions in a crazy convoluted, purposefully confusing way here instead of making them a simple and to the point YES/NO type format.

Do any of you think this was an honest, by the book, fraud-free election?

24 years after radical muslims killed 3000 people, New York City residents elected a radical muslim to run their city.

I used to love that place.

It's just the beginning boys and girls. Hold onto your hats.

I'm not lecturing anyone, but if you can't see what is right in front of your eyes, you're either blind or an idiot. Like I said, look around at the world. What do you see happening?

You certainly are lecturing me. If you think I'm blind or an idiot, then you're the one afflicted with those maladies.

Oh, it's the end of the world, just like it was the end of the world the last time an election didn't go our way, and just like it will be the end of the world the next time an election doesn't go our way.

Try this on for size while you're weeping in your beer: "President Kamala Harris". Oh, but nothing ever goes our way, does it? It's the end of the world.

It's hilarious you suggest that others are blind, when you couldn't see how this would turn out. Sliwa split the vote on what was an uphill battle to begin with. Are you even aware of the makeup of NYC's population today? Who do you think those people are going to vote for? Come on.

New York, New Jersey and Virginia? You're surprised? And you call me an idiot? Get real.

"Look around"? Try it yourself. I've said it many times- things are going to have to get much worse before they can get better.

I think I heard Fetterman say today that if NYC elects this guy, it might be the end of the Democrat party. What does he mean? NYC is already running a deficit of billions of dollars and here comes the Pied Piper getting ready to start air-dropping pallets of cash to all the illegal immigrant trash non-stop. Expect the city to declare bankruptcy inside 24 months.

Sit back and enjoy the show. Fashion a comfy lounge chair out of all your gloom and doom, and prepare in earnest for the day you just might get to shoot some of these invader sons of bitches.

I didn't say that it was the end of the world.

Everyone knew how this would turn out and I mentioned it several times here. Sliwa is a good man and would make a great mayor of NYC, but is, and always has been, unelectable. The beret doesn't help.

NYC is roughly 50% of people who don't give a shit about anything, and certainly not you or me, as long as their services are provided for (like any big city). As long as nothing changes for them, they'll vote for it. (I know, I was one of those people). The remaining people are the uber-rich and uber-poor. Who do you think that the poor are going to vote for?

Actually, I am surprised we lost there. I was hoping that those folks had finally pulled their heads out of the asses (present company excluded).

Can't argue with that. And it's going to.

As I've hopefully made clear on this board it is not my fear of liberalism or marxism or communism. All of those those things we can beaten fairly easily. The invasion of islam into this country is a whole 'nother animal that needs to be recognized, addressed, and repelled. They are coming here with a purpose. That purpose is a worldwide caliphate. What better target to conquer than New York City. And they got it.

Call me a loonie, call me whatever you want, but they've been working on it since Muhammed poked his head out of his tent 1400 years ago with this goal. You want to keep the country that we all grew up in? Repel these people with everything you have.

You're just babbling. I didn't get to vote in any of those elections, and you don't need to tell me jackshit about doing my civic duty.

You can claim whatever you want, but if you’re surprised that the leftists/communists won in NYC, NJ and VA tonight, then you were way too optimistic. I, for one, wasn’t. One could see right through the right-wing media that they just hyping it up pretending like their side had any chance at all.

And, in NYC in particular, people can’t be blaming Sliwa for the commie’s victory. The final vote tally is not yet done, but as it stands right now with almost 95% precincts reporting, the commie has over 52% of the vote. So, even if all the Sliwa and Adams votes went for Cuomo (which is extremely unlikely), it’s still not enough.

The one thing that I got to vote on was CA prop 50.

As I expected it passed. So now there will only be 4-5 Republicans in the House from CA.

I’m not represented as it is with Swalwell as my congressman…
