She got a nice coat there I wonder how much that cost.
Only the elite will have nice thing like that when socialism takes over.
I pray this never happens.

Chuckle. Mamdani might cut up rough.

“The New York City Police Department has denied their mayor's claims that his wife will be getting a special police escort for her upcoming trip to Syria.

Zohran Mamdani had insisted that officers recommended that his wife Rama Duwaji be accompanied by taxpayer-funded police bodyguards for the journey.

Duwaji, 29, is planning to visit Syria and Lebanon next month despite the US State Department warning against travel to either country.

And in a humiliating turn of events the NYPD has undercut Mamdani's claims that his private-citizen wife would receive the special escort.

'The NYPD does not send officers to countries with Level 4 travel advisories for discretionary reasons not linked to investigative work,' an NYPD spokesperson told the New York Post.

'This is not an investigative trip, and therefore NYPD personnel will not be traveling there for it.' …”

Didn't listen or watch but WTF is he trying to do?

is he trying to force Amazon to buy out and absorb all the delivery companies and independent contractors which in-turn, will raise Amazon's costs (business decision would probably be one where areas with higher labor costs (like NYC) will pay more for delivery fees and rural America pay less)??

That's the gist of it, yes.

Amazon can afford to not do business in NYC more than NYC can afford for Amazon to not do business in NYC.

A very clear explanation of possible outcomes of Mamdami’s newest whack idea and why.

“No Free Shipping: What NYC’s Amazon Delivery Bill Would Cost New Yorkers

When a city raises the cost of delivering, someone has to pay for it and usually it’s the consumer. The remedy this bill chooses comes with a price tag the sponsors have not fully accounted for, and New Yorkers are the ones who would end up paying most of it.”

The way amazon delivery works is Amazon uses Small businesses to contract out a lot of things, but amazon provides most of the vehicles, and all of the software.

once again this jackoff is fucking small business.

If Amazon announced that due to NYC policies it will no longer deliver any packages to any addresses within city limits, I'd guess the Mayor's office would hear about it. Quite loudly.

I would love to see Amazon pull the plug in NYC. The meltdowns would be epic. After the shit AOC pulled a few years back, it would be fitting. (this is not going to happen)

Let's hope Amazon doesn't decide to offset this by raising "everyone's" delivery price across the US.

They wouldn't need to raise everybody's delivery price. All they would have to do is flag in their ordering systems that New York City gets all deliveries via USPS, UPS and FedEx with customers charged the delivery fee. They would also have to update their Terms of Service to exclude New York City from the benefit of free delivery with Amazon Prime membership. I'm sure that's doable.
