I have a weird last name, since forever.
One of my siblings claims that the great grandfather got it messed up on ellis island
when he came over from europe.

I can find a dozen of us on the www, 6 are direct relatives and 4 more are 2nd cousins.

I just found another in the Bettendorf,Ia phone book that came out.

If you feel like taking two minutes , and actually have a phone book to look in,
I realize
that a lot of people can not be found on the www.

yeah , I don't have a land line either , but I still get three or four every year

I get one. Its about half an inch thick. Covers a huge chunk of the Yoop.

We get a phone directory but it no longer has the residential white pages, so it is mostly advertising.

I do have a land line, but the only phone books delivered now contain just the Yellow Pages and Government listings.

You may want to try that database.
I just entered the last name (as I understood it) and searched all 50 states. It found 68 results.
...and I think it lists 9 in IL. Is one of them you?

FamilyTreeNow.com has lots of info. Nothing remotely close in local phone book.
