The realities of attrition warfare are taking hold and eventually Ukraine and NATO will have to admit that they are losing. It's a reality many analysts have been trying to warn about for at least the past year, but anyone listening to the propaganda from the western media would assume that Ukraine is on the verge of sweeping the Russian out of the country.

I’ve been saying this for over two years now. Russia’s going to have the parts of Ukraine they want, and as it drags on, they’ll take more of it. We’re being played by the EU on this one. We really need to stop sending money, arms, everything and tell that smarmy little shit Zelensky “sorry, little buddy, war’s over.”

If this does not motivate the Russians to go BIG, then nothing will. This is a pretty big part of their nuclear trident. Next 48 hours will be interesting.

With Zelenskyy on what appears to be a suicide mission I can only see Trump washing his hands of the entire thing, it'll never come out but I can imagine, A Trump/Putin conversation consisting of "Do what you've got to do."

This drone attack is pretty ingenious, and kind of scary in just how inexpensive and low-tech it is. How vulnerable are our own air bases to something like that?

Airplanes are really expensive and relatively fragile. The BBC is saying it probably cost the russians close to $7 Billion, and destroyed a bunch of aircraft that can't easily be replaced since they're no longer in production.

Our bomber fleet isn't that different...I think the only one that is currently being built is the B21, and that's not even in service yet. And losing even one of those, or a B2, would cost billions. There are a lot of B1s and B52s, but they can't be replaced.

Or even worse, what if some terror group decided to do something like this at a commercial airport and hit a bunch of airliners full of people?

After reading about the attack at work today that was the first thing I thought of. I might add it was a less than pleasant thought.

Golden Dome is a waste of money, I have heard lots of experts mention the threat of shipping containers and here you have a prime example. Took out over a third of their strategic bombers according to reports.

The only real sophistication in this attack was the trojan-horse style smuggling and the widespread coordination. You wouldn't even need that part of this to cause all kinds of havoc. A few nutjobs with some commercially available drones and some explosives could cause all kinds of damage.

I hope we have the right people thinking through this stuff, because you know the bad guys are.

Exactly, the first indication of the lethality of drones was the Azerbaijan/Armenia conflict.

The drone scenario being employed against our stateside air bases is pretty scary. Also scary is the possible use of MANPADs around our civil airports.
