They have crazy good night vision and I’m sure these blindingly bright LED headlights on modern cars disorients the shit out of them.

Pretty patient and kind guy. Hopefully that deer will grow up to be one of the smart ones that waits by the roadside while traffic passes. __________________________ "Trust, but verify."

Another reason to up the annual limit in Iowa, there are about 30,000 too many here. I wonder if insurance companies help keep the state hunting limits high. The more deer damage = the higher they can raise their rates. ? Safety, Situational Awareness and proficiency. Neck Ties, Hats and ammo brass, Never ,ever touch'em w/o asking first

Of the three large animals (pronghorn, aka “antelope,” elk, deer) commonly encountered around where I live, deer seem to be the least intelligent, or the least capable of dealing with motor vehicles. Elk are sometimes hit, but deer are far more likely to jump in front of an oncoming vehicle at the last second, and a friend’s car was recently damaged when a deer ran directly into the side. Their relative numbers probably have something to do with it, but I’ve never seen elk just stand frozen in the middle of the road like deer (and that behavior was common as far back into the past that I can remember—long before LED headlights). ► 6.4/93.6 “It is peace for our time.” — Neville the Appeaser
