Told cops where to go for over 29 years…

Living in the greater Seattle area I, unfortunately, need to be conscious of what I wear depending on where I am going. I make a choice not to wear pro Trump or pro conservative shirts or hats if I am going to medical appointments, restaurants, or other places where someone may decide to provide substandard service based on my political leanings.

My wife and I made a Costco trip this morning both wearing our “Freedom“ T-shirts and me wearing my subdued, black and gray “ Make America Great Again” hat. Shortly after entering the store, someone felt the need to tell me it was a “Horrible hat“ I replied, “Says you“ to that she said “It’s just my opinion” I explained nobody asked for your opinion and moved on.

A few minutes later, we crossed paths again she made eye contact and I stated (with a larger grin)“All seven swing states. Majority Popular vote. Electoral college landslide.“ She said nothing and just moved on.

Fast forward another few minutes and we cross paths in produce and with a big smile, I say “Trump 2028”. By this point, she adverts her eyes and walks away. Later on I see her turn down the aisle I am in from the other end before making a quick turnaround as she saw me at the other end.

I guess she was all ready for engagement so long as it was one way, but quickly decided she couldn’t deal with someone taking back.

I just don’t understand why people feel the need to spout off to total strangers out in public. I guess in an area such as mine where they have such a huge majority, they just feel it’s safe to do so.

I’d say she was pretty restrained. Be thankful she didn’t scream and spit at you. That would be a real case of terminal TDS.

Living behind enemy lines, I generally avoid doing things that will attract the attention of crazies. That would be a daily hassle. I try not to poke the bee hive, especially when carrying, and doubly when not.

When wearing an NRA cap while running errands, I have received many nods, and thumbs up. Never noticed any negative reactions.

I'm behind enemy lines however where I live is fairly balanced and moderate, which means you can wear just about anything you like without any commentary. Personally I don't care to wear big logos or, statement shirts however wearing such into a place like SF or Oakland, you're bound to come across somebody who's unable to control themselves. While you may not get commentary directly, if your vehicle is identified the chances of vandalism is high. I used to have a yellow-ribbon magnet on the back of my pickup early on in the GWOT, I had to replace it at least four times, a few times I'd find it several steps away from where I parked torn apart on the street. Thankfully no destroyed side mirrors, dents or, deep scratches but vandalism is the passive-aggressive MO for the unhinged and rabid.

No. Young 20’s, slim as a 14 yo boy. Built like she would have trouble opening a bag of chips by herself. A few face piercings

Surprisingly, a hair color that occurs naturally in humans.

I go to Asheville every now and then, and I won't wear anything remotely right-oriented. I don't feel the need to bait the animals.
A guy in a pickup with a Trump sticker went through during the No Kings rally and got his truck attacked and damaged, and he was assaulted as well.
The libs are really crazy up there.

Here's to the sunny slopes of long ago.

I don't wear political or any statement clothing. No bumper stickers, nothing to give random strangers any idea how I lean on anything. Confrontation is just the next person away without inviting it. And I live in the conservative part of Minnesota. I don't think enough people understand how a confrontation with some whack job can change your life in a bad way forever. Yeah we are all bad asses here we can defend ourselves and carry responsibly. Even the most justified case of defending yourself even without gun play can make your life miserable for long time. Just avoid it.

as an almost old guy, I follow the gray man principle,

be invisible,

saying that, I have and will wear a Winsome Sears (Va Gov hopefully) t shirt,

and I occassionaly wear my company shirts ( brother and I own 2 gunshops) here and there
or a hat

no issues,

yet

RE the comments about not “advertising” anything. I don’t go looking for conflict and I don’t wear any “anti” anything. Occasional, mild “support” for Trump and nothing but the pledge of allegiance on the rear windows of my car.

I guess I kind of look at it as a right unexercised is a right forfeited. If you wouldn’t go up to someone in a store to tell them their glasses or kid was ugly, what makes you think it is appropriate in that setting to comment on a subtle show of support for country or President?

I’ve worn my “Black Guns Matter” shirt a few times and a white and gold MAGA hat golfing a few times. I’ve received many subtle compliments and lots of “ Hey I really like your hat”. We have a golf group 70/30 conservative. Many times I wear the hat just to get them going. Good guys all if you ignore politics.
