Saw a package of Red Lobster drop biscuit mix at the Safeway store last week. Think I will get some and try it with my sausage gravy.

Costco carries it too. It works well and you can also not add the cheese if you prefer. I double it. I have never tried the sausage and gravy though, so I will certainly do so in the near future. Calgary Shooting Centre

Mom made her biscuits simply out of self-rising flour and buttermilk. No matter how hard I’ve tried, I can’t duplicate them. Batter is ALWAYS too thin... "If you’re a leader, you lead the way. Life's too short to live by the rules |
If you want a lighter version, I use 2% milk and the fat from frying a pound of sausage patties with flour for a roux and make a white gravy. I then chop up about 3 to 4 patties and mix it into the gravy with plenty of black pepper. I finally add a little sage to give it more of that "sausage" flavor without actually adding more sausage.

Yep, Grand Buttermilk. I make biscuits, but not as good as Grands. Grands are as good as the Coffee Cup's. Be aware, frozen biscuits don't keep in the freezer for several months. I buy the smaller bags more often.

Got me a bag of Mary B’s biscuits. A pound of bulk sausage and the rest of the ingredients. Cast iron skillet standing by. I know what I’ll be having for breakfast tomorrow _________________________ 2nd Amendment Defender The Second Amendment is not about hunting or sport shooting.

what happens if you don't have a cast iron skillet? anything? "Would just love to have a bit of this. However it is off the charts unhealthy for anyone on a Heart Smart and Low Sodium diet. They don't have to be baked in a skillet, some of us just prefer that. You can use a baking sheet. Place biscuits touching each other, it helps them rise more. But i can't imagine life without cast iron. I have my own style of humor. I call it Snarkasm.

Just Hanging Around |
I fixed this at about 7:00 this morning. 2 of the big Pillsbury Grands biscuits, generously covered with gravy, and 2 over easy eggs on top. It was damn good. I tried the Half and Half, and it was just a little on the rich side for me. I'm used to 1% milk, so I think I'll just use regular whole milk next time, but it was still very good. I'm wearing my stripped shirt today, so I can tell if I'm walking or rolling. Thanks for the recipe.

Thanks for the tutorial. One side of my clan had this dish often. I'm ashamed, I don't know how to cook much. I just don't enjoy cooking at all. Frozen food is just too easy. I need to make this. Thank you.

A day late, and a dollar short |
I also am of the hardly cook at all population, my wife cooks for me, bless her soul. I just had to try this though, it came out perfect, I had to keep adding milk to the gravy, to keep it from thickening to much. Used wop biscuits (wop the cardboard tube on the edge of the sink to open), fried three eggs and voilà! Good stuff Rolan, thanks for sharing. PS...Even my wife was impressed, as she normally makes this for us. ____________________________ NRA Life Member, Annual Member GOA, MGO Annual Member

I make it this way, except I rub a little sage and oregano into the gravy. Otherwise almost identical. There was a guy here locally, now retired, owned a breakfast and lunch place. I will definitely be trying this. I’ve always got a package of Grand’s biscuits in the freezer. I just have to find some decent sausage. Open until now, I’ve always just bought the Jimmy Dean’s gravy packs at the store, the kind you heat in hot water for about 20 minutes and then cut it open. I haven’t found a restaurant in the area that has decent B&G. So this will sure be helpful for the times I have the B&G cravings. “I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. Delicious. But make your biscuits from scratch. They're easy, and drop biscuits are super easy. The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.
