Gee, precisely when did they get so picky about actually reporting something other than FAKE NEWS? And they have not fallen short of the goal of accurate reporting of news. They have not been in touch with that idea for at least 3 decades. earlier post: The special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, removed a top F.B.I. agent from his investigation into Russian election meddling after the Justice Department’s inspector general began examining whether the agent sent text messages that expressed anti-Trump political views, according to three people briefed on the matter. The agent, Peter Strzok, is considered one of the most experienced and trusted F.B.I. counterintelligence investigators. He helped lead the investigation into whether Hillary Clinton mishandled classified information on her private email account, and then played a major role in the investigation into links between President Trump’s campaign and Russia. *************** now we may know why this info was "leaked" by the FBI and Muellar leaked to their favorite news sources: NYT and Wash Post http://www.washingtonexaminer....bias/article/2642387 Nunes blows up, threatens contempt after FBI stonewalls House on Russia investigator demoted for anti-Trump bias House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes has issued an angry demand to the FBI and Department of Justice to explain why they kept the committee in the dark over the reason Special Counsel Robert Mueller kicked a key supervising FBI agent off the Trump-Russia investigation. Stories in both the Washington Post and New York Times on Saturday reported that Peter Strzok, who played a key role in the original FBI investigation into the Trump-Russia matter, and then a key role in Mueller's investigation, and who earlier had played an equally critical role in the FBI's Hillary Clinton email investigation, was reassigned out of the Mueller office because of anti-Trump texts he exchanged with a top FBI lawyer, Lisa Page, with whom Strzok was having an extramarital affair. Strzok was transferred to the FBI's human resources office — an obvious demotion -- in July. The Post reported that Strzok and Page exchanged text messages that "expressed anti-Trump sentiments and other comments that appeared to favor Clinton." Word of the messages and the affair were news to Nunes, even though the committee had issued a subpoena that covered information about Strzok's demotion more than three months ago . The committee's broadly worded subpoena for information related to the so-called Trump dossier went to the FBI and FOJ on Aug. 24. In follow-up conversations on the scope of the subpoena, committee staff told the FBI and DOJ that it included information on the circumstances of Strzok's reassignment. In an Oct. 31 committee staff meeting with the FBI, bureau officials refused a request for information about Strzok On Nov. 20, the committee again requested an interview with Strzok. (Three days earlier, on November 17, Strzok met with the Senate Intelligence Committee.) On Nov. 29, Nunes again spoke to Rosenstein, and again discussed Strzok. On Dec. 1, the committee again requested to speak with Strzok. and just like that, NYT article comes out today 2 Dec we are getting played by a corrupt FBI Now, in what appears to be an orchestrated leak, both the Post and Times published the reason for Strzok's demotion, along with concerns that the revelation might help President Trump. "Among federal law enforcement officials, there is great concern that exposure of the texts they exchanged may be used by the president and his defenders to attack the credibility of the Mueller probe and the FBI more broadly," the Post reported. The Times reported that "the existence of the text messages is likely to fuel claims by Mr. Trump that he is the target of a witch hunt." "By hiding from Congress, and from the American people, documented political bias by a key FBI head investigator for both the Russia collusion probe and the Clinton email investigation, the FBI and DOJ engaged in a willful attempt to thwart Congress' constitutional oversight responsibility," Nunes said in a statement Saturday afternoon. "This is part of a months-long pattern by the DOJ and FBI of stonewalling and obstructing this committee's oversight work, particularly oversight of their use of the Steele dossier. At this point, these agencies should be investigating themselves." "The DOJ has now expressed -- on a Saturday, just hours after the press reports on Strzok's dismissal appeared -- a sudden willingness to comply with some of the committee's long-standing demands," Nunes said in the statement. "This attempted 11th-hour accommodation is neither credible nor believable, and in fact is yet another example of the DOJ's disingenuousness and obstruction." As a result, Nunes said he has instructed committee staff to draw up a contempt of Congress citation for Rosenstein and for FBI Director Christopher Wray. The chairman promised to take action on the citation before the end of December unless the FBI and DOJ meet all the committee's outstanding demands.

Oh it was no mistake. It was completely intentional. And due to his somewhat dubious history of reporting Ross was the perfect patsy to deliver it. The left knows the original accusation is always stronger than the retraction. They threw this out there to plant the seed that it is a smoking gun, knowing that many will never hear (or care) about the backpedaling. They truely are ministers of propaganda, and they have no moral compunction against lying to the American people to advance their goal.

I'm certain Mr. Strzok's political impartiality was a well-kept secret at the agency. Being a counter-intelligence expert and all... *************************** Knowing more by accident than on purpose.

Seems Strzok and his girlfriend may be major Swamp Things, in serious need of questioning... And by the way, when did anyone think that having affairs was a good idea, being in counter-intelligence and all? Not like that info is sufficient to use to blackmail anyone into anything, right? Exactly what are the standards at FBI anyhow? From reference website: The recently demoted FBI Deputy Head of Counterintelligence Peter Strzok was not only the lead FBI agent in charge of the Clinton email investigation… and he was not only the agent that interviewed her… and he was not only the agent assigned to the top level of Robert Mueller’s 2016 team to investigate the Russian conspiracy… He was also the FBI contact person for Christopher Steele, the author of the Steele Russian Dossier. A little over one month after Strzok’s departure, ABC News reported that F.B.I. lawyer Lisa Page also left the special Russia investigation. Page was known by various reports as being deeply experienced in “money laundering and organized crime cases,” and was part of what Wired magazine referred to as his “investigator’s dream team.” Do you think we’ll ever see the actual content of their communication? https://theconservativetreehouse.com https://www.citizenfreepress.c...er-probe-developing/ Is there not one other FBI agent that could have been engaged in any of these investigations? Smells an awful lot like collusion in the House of Comey. So Strzok interviewed Mills and Samuelson, and almost certainly was the source of their immunity deals, rather than indictment. And reviewed the Weiner e-mails. And handled the dossier. And then ends up on the Mueller team with his girlfriend, and they both love Hillary and hate Trump? What the fuck people? I’m ready to start heating the tar. Anyone have a few trucks of feathers handy? Can somebody in VA build us an old-fashioned rail to ride them out on?This message has been edited. No sex tapes, please. Fwiw, you can be a political animal and still retain an aura, a semblance of impartiality. But damn, Mr. Strozk! *************************** Knowing more by accident than on purpose.

http://www.foxnews.com/politic...ton-email-probe.html Two senior Justice Department officials have confirmed to Fox News that the department's Office of Inspector General is reviewing the role played in the Hillary Clinton email investigation by Peter Strzok A source close to the matter said the OIG probe, which will examine Strzok's roles in a number of other politically sensitive cases, should be completed by "very early next year." The task will be exceedingly complex, given Strzok's consequential portfolio. He participated in the FBI's fateful interview with Hillary Clinton on July 2, 2016 – just days before then-FBI Director James Comey announced he was declining to recommend prosecution of Mrs. Clinton in connection with her use, as secretary of state, of a private email server. As deputy FBI director for counterintelligence, Strzok also enjoyed liaison with various agencies in the intelligence community, including the CIA, then led by Director John Brennan. House investigators told Fox News they have long regarded Strzok as a key figure in the chain of events when the bureau, in 2016, received the infamous anti-Trump "dossier" and launched a counterintelligence investigation into Russian meddling in the election that ultimately came to encompass FISA surveillance of a Trump campaign associate. Strzok himself briefed the committee on Dec. 5, 2016, the sources said, but within months of that session House Intelligence Committee investigators were contacted by an informant suggesting that there was “documentary evidence” that Strzok was purportedly obstructing the House probe into the dossier . “We now know why Strzok was dismissed, why the FBI and DOJ refused to provide us this explanation, and at least one reason why they previously refused to make [FBI] Deputy Director [Andrew] McCabe available to the Committee for an interview,” Nunes said in a statement The Justice Department maintained that the decision to clear Strzok for House interrogation had occurred a few hours prior to the appearance of the Times and Post stories.

So now that Sessions, Rosenstein and Wray are running things, what’s the hang up? Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me. Much of the agency’s (FBI) senior leadership jobs are currently filled by people who were put in those positions by Comey, and Wray has yet to make many significant changes at the top. But a major house cleaning by the new director is widely anticipated inside the bureau. McCabe, the deputy director, has faced repeated questions from the White House and Republican lawmakers about whether he should have been involved in the Clinton case at all — given the hundreds of thousands of dollars in political donations made by a key Clinton ally to McCabe’s wife, a 2015 candidate for political office in Virginia. http://archive.is/iJV5W#selection-2017.0-2017.337 It is incredible how the Obama administration loaded the federal agencies and courts with agents who were more loyal to DEMs / liberals / progressives than to the American people
