First thought I has was, if she could manage to take a selfie when she was completely submerged, it would have undoubtedly gone viral. Even better, if she could have managed it after she was dead (and frozen solid).

In another thread I was having a debate with another forum member about the differences between "unwise," "stupid," and "moronic."

Speaking as somebody who's lived almost their entire life in an area surrounded by large lakes on three sides, and in an area riddled with smaller lakes, I can say:

  • Driving a motor vehicle onto the ice is unwise
  • Driving a motor vehicle onto ice about which you know nothing is stupid
  • Doing what she did was moronic

The Ice Highway is open across across a MN lake again. 2 hours to cross over to Canada, 20 mph top speed. Gets you to a favorite ice fishing spot, fee is $$$ of dollars and yet people pay it. Its complete with road signs, etc.

That's the ice road that runs from Baudette Mn to the Northwest Angle in the U.S. The fee is $250 to use the road. Does not include any fishing or lodging. It is a option to get to the resorts in the Northwest Angle while avoiding the hassle of crossing into Canada.
A couple of us used it last year we wanted to give the resorts up there some business as they were really suffering with Canada closing the border. They were very grateful and appreciative to have us.

Making and maintaining ice roads is expensive.

If conditions are right, you can snowmobile the ice from St Ignace across the strait to Mackinac Island.
I will wait until spring and ride the jet boat.

Wise choice, IMO.

The Coast Guard cautions people that the ice bridge is extremely dangerous. It usually is open for a short period due to the fluctuating winter temperatures and having strong winds blowing the ice out of the area in a matter of hours. Unfortunately, people have died crossing the Ice Bridge especially at night. Whether from intoxication or just getting lost on this "huge ice floe" people have started across and never have gotten to the other side.

A couple of years back, I watched sledders crossing the ice from the St Ignace side.
It appeared that most of the participants had just left the nearest bar before venturing out onto the ice. Liquid courage helps the crossing, apparently!

Give her keys to a beater car and point her towards the lake again. This time though, (non) rescuers can take selfies w/her in the background while she sinks and learns just how cold the water is in non-millennial land.

I bet She is maintained by her parents. The loss is something her parents will have to deal with.
I think she is now bitching at her parents about how long its taking to get her a new car, and one she likes.
OMG! What if her cell phone was damaged!

Two teenage girls did the same thing last winter in MN. They were tearing around out on the lake just like this one did.

I watched a mother in a thong bikini and her two teenage daughters doing some stupid Tik Tok dance challenge on the beach for literally 45 minutes, trying again and again because they were way out of sync. The mom was in her late 30s/early 40s and her ass in a thong doesn't belong anywhere near her daughters' social media feed with other 13-15 year olds watching. I would go as far to say anyone under 18 shouldn't be allowed to have social media but we all know that isn't happening.

You watched it for 45 minutes. Smile

I timed it Razz this is Puerto Rico. There's an endless supply of 18-28 year olds who prance around in thong bikinis. I'm an equal opportunity judge of talent.

Think it's expected forum protocol as well..

You know, so we can confirm that you're posting the truth about 45 minutes of thong filmage...... Razz

I’m guessing that the car belonged to an ex., boyfriend, girlfriend, whatever. She probably sent them the selfie of that person’s car sinking through the ice.

I have no shame. I take pics and videos every trip to the beach and send it to my friends freezing their asses off back home. Some may say I'm a creep, I say they should cover their ass cheeks if they don't want people to see and let's be perfectly clear: they love the attention. Some of these "bikinis" leave nothing to the imagination.

I'd be happy to post the proof but given the lack of similar material I haven't seen around this forum suggests to me that ownership frowns upon it.
