Hamden106Let's play "What is it"
I have no idea what this is
It has been in the family junk for years. Now upon clearing out 99yr old Mother's stuff, I want to find out so I can stop wondering.
What mysteries do you have?
Might be karmable. ha ha

bigpond73Is it....
A mount for sharpening wheels on a meat slicer?
Or....
A brake pad holder?
Can you put a tape measure next to it for reference?

OKCGeneFWIW there is a group “What Is This Thing” on Facebook. It’s amazing what people show and ask and someone knows the answer. It’s been very interesting and fun.

P250UA5Text says "To Anchor" and "To Mast"
So, I think the sailboat reference has some legs.

Lineman101It looks like a sewing machine thread guide? I remember seeing something like this on my mom’s sewing machine when I was young:

Full length is 4.375 inch. Width is about .5"
Big enough opening for a 1/4" line to go through. But the hook is less than 1/4
No pulley. Line would only slide on smoothe inside

tsmccullPart of a can opener which experienced (as Spacex would say) a “rapid unscheduled disassembly”?

mojojojoThis is an espresso machine. No, no wait. It's a snow cone maker. Is it a water heater?

nhracecraftWell, it's stamped 'to anchor' and 'to mast', so 'BigSwede' is on the right track here. I don't know that much about rigging on sailboats, so that's all I got!
ETA - I got a phone call in the middle of wordsmithing my post, and apparently 'P250UA5' beat me to the punch. And while I do type slow, I ain't that slow!

trapper189It's a line tensioner for a TV antenna mast. You tie the line to the hole that says tie, run the line around something then back through the to mast and to anchor like the diagram. You pull it tight then twist it so the hook catches the line.
That's my WAG.

RipleyKinda crude stamped and riveted part, seems unlikely on a precision application. Also might mean someone needed a bunch on them.

Damn. Beat me to it.
Based on the markings, my vote is for a sewing machine part.

Or, possibly something from an old antenna mast.

I’m freaking out!!! I just found this hidden in my arrangement of peacock feathers? Is this a recording device? Camera?
Update!!!
The camera was in an arrangement of feathers from when I had a peacock. My son’s puppy kept trying to eat them so I decided to put them up high so he couldn’t reach. That’s when I found the cord and camera. My bf confessed to putting it there and then told me about the other two. My son has gone through the entire apartment (vents and all) and found nothing else. I have male neighbors who are watching me and I also have a best friend in LE just a few miles away so I’m safe. I have several pew pews too but I know he doesn’t have the balls to come here. I’m well trained.
He is now my ex bf and will stay that way. He had his chance and messed up. Bye!!
Thanks everyone for being so kind and caring. I love this group even more now. ❤️
