Take a look at this. Incredible. Yes, the truck hit obstacles, bounced into the air and kept going. But that is not the remarkable thing about this pursuit.

GET

Most of the idiots in the left lane must be on their phones, no situational awareness at all.
And I'm surprised the pick up truck did not flip over at various moments of the chase.

I've driven on that road many times when I live in northern Atlanta.
Crazy how many lives he put in danger.
There's no way I could be a cop. Just watching that video, I was ready to shoot that guy when he exited his car and started running.

There was a lot of bad in that. If no one was seriously hurt or killed it was purely by the grace of God.

And I agree Para. How dumb can people be? It is limitless obviously.

With all the drivers failing to yield, it’s amazing how well the officer kept up with the truck even he was going the wrong way.

And that’s one tough truck…

That's not just a failure to yield to emergency vehicles. That's the failure to use the traffic lanes as specified by law in general. Most of those in the left lane were not passing nor getting ready to make a left turn.

Que those who believe that you can cruise in the left lane so long as you're not exceeding the speed limit.

Que those who think the roads are their personal autobahn.(which DOES have speed posted limits)
So how fast can you cruise the left? 100? 150?
what's the limit? How many miles can you "pass" traffic? Or is this some I wanna drive 100+ and stay out of my way shit?

^^^ See?

Doesn't matter what I think. The law is quite clear. Left lane is for passing traffic. Doesn't mention speed at all. Need me to post the law for you?

Georgia driving manual:
https://www.edrivermanuals.com...c%20is%20approaching.

quote:
Pursuant to House Bill 459, slower drivers must move out of the passing lane (most left-hand lane) and over to the right to allow faster-moving traffic to proceed. Regardless of the speed you are traveling, you must move from the lane when faster traffic is approaching.

All of this being said, if people were driving according to the law, 90 percent of those cars wouldn't have been in that officer's way.

See it all of the time unfortunately. No one wants to yield anymore. Their lives are more important than anyone's until they are the ones in need.

On a two lane blacktop, an ambulance with its lights and siren on was approaching from the opposite direction, Naturally, I slowed down, pulled as far off the road as I could, and stopped to yield to the ambulance. Unfortunately, the person behind me failed to do the same and rear ended me. Nobody was hurt, my F350’s bumper and hitch were fine, the other driver’s Navigator’s bumper cover and grill were not so lucky.

I don't know how they were able to restrain themselves from beating the shit out of that little asswipe.

Was hoping for the audio of when they accidentally put the little pisshead in the back of the K9 unit. Someday...

After the impact, the truck appears to be still drivable, not sure why he got out. Must be late for his MENSA meeting?

When they designed the architecture for the Ram (then Dodge) truck, for the boxed frame, they used hydroformed steel rated at 36,000 PSI.

Turned out to be too rigid for the crash tests. They had to put 14 holes in the frame for it to absorb enough of the impact.

Other trucks at the time were using 12,000 PSI steel. Some still do.

Here in Texas, we have two highway signs that are similar, but not the same. ‘Slower Traffic Keep Right’ and ‘Left Lane For Passing Only’ are the two, but now there are way fewer of the former in the jurisdictions I’ve been through.

Personally, I’ve never cited for either, but I have stopped many people for disregarding the signs, either for the problems they have actually caused or for a PC stop.

I’ve been seeing a fair amount of these crazy pursuit videos still even after many agencies have greatly restricted their pursuit policies. Many pursuits aren’t worth it due to safety for all, and because of their ever increasing leniency of the judicial system.

My friends mother was killed in Tucson while driving through an intersection near her home when a Pima County deputy struck her while responding to assist a fellow deputy with pursuing an ATV many miles away. She was the best - a pistol-packin’ preacher’s wife.

I’ll lay on the air horn and be right in their drivers mirror and nothing.

Great ad for RAM trucks. That thing took a licking and kept on with the job.

I assume the driver of the RAM was steering into the skid when the officer tried to PIT him, twice. He could get a few feet of deflection before it seemed like all inertia stopped and the RAM drove off.

Maybe the RAM had new tires and some significant weight in the back?

I see you can’t read. It applies to all roads with at least two lanes in each direction.
