| Brees like so many of these idiots lost me when he brought his leftist politics on to the field. I could care less what he does. If he would of just done what he was paid to do then fine, but nooooooo.

Here is what is going on at Purdue Football: Jeff Brohm's younger brother, Brian, is interim head coach, and has been with the team for 6 years. Most recently as Offensive Coordinator and QB coach, but he has been substitute head coach in '20 when Jeff Brohm tested postive for COVID. Probably stretched too thin to be head coach, offensive coordinator, and QB coach. Brees was hired as an interim assistant coach just for the Citrus Bowl. From Purdue Football's FB page, Brees called AD Bobinksi and said, "If you need me, I'm here, I'm available. I'd love to be a resource - Not just for the QBs, for the rest of the team too." Our NFL bound QB, O'Connell, elected to sit out the Bowl Game (on top of NFL, his brother died late November) so our back-up, Burton, with two previous starts will need a full-time QB coach. Purdue had 2 co-defensive coordinators. The one that did the play calling has already left for Louisville with Brohm. The other defensive coordinator will be play caller for the defense in the Citrus Bowl.
Purdue already hired an offensive coordinator so it looks like the Citrus Bowl is the finale for Brian Brohm. Sound the Alarm. Walters hires Air Raid Offensive Coordinator Graham Harrell

And any fantasy I had of Brees taking on the OC role. Wonder if QB Coach is open?

Recruiting starts early now - remember, Purdue has been dubbed 'QB University' and just hired a defensive-minded head coach. Having Brees on the sidelines is likely the only non-'holy shit this game is bad' thing that will happen during the bowl game. Unless LSU has even more starters sit out. |

Lol. Hopefully Brees sticks around. A local QB, Ryan Browne, just committed to Purdue this week. I watched him play a few times last year and he’s got a lot of talent. He’s not #1 on the depth chart but I hope he gets someone to develop him and hopefully he works his way up.

Now, the fact they didn't have him dodge a lightning strike or something like that is a real missed opportunity.
