It's possible that the worn pistol was used for the New Equipment Training conducted when the pistols where fielded to the unit. While not every unit gets new equipment training (mine didn't when we received the M4A1), the unit that got your pistol probably did. It's also possible that your pistol was the "range gun". Some units will only take a few of their pistols to the range and have multiple firers use it. That way there is less to clean and account for( I don't recommend this practice). |
