I think back, being in my late 60s, about words we used "back when" that are now today coming out as taboo. Then Tim McGraw's song "Back When" popped into my head ... about sums it up. At my age, will never be into drinking today's word Kool-aid.

That reminds me of a story an engineer told me where his employer tried to get the engineers to start calling retarded phase signals delayed phase signals. Perish the thought that they'd offend those mentally challenged phase signals.

There is a difference: "Delayed" just mean it's late for an unspecified reason; "retarded" means it was deliberately delayed.

Thirty years ago, I was teaching UNIX-related computer stuff, usually one or two week long courses.

One of the topics made reference to "RPN" and a student asked what that meant.

I think every word in California should be banned. No more talking. This way we cant hear any of this crap anymore, then take away all writing utensils so we wont have to read it either.

I can’t help but be reminded of this by this by these freaks.

What these folks tend to miss in history is black slaves were not the only folks working out in the 'field'... in fact, I've heard some people still work out in fields.....
