Fox News own attorneys:

"The 'general tenor' of the show should then inform a viewer that [Carlson] is not 'stating actual facts' about the topics he discusses and is instead engaging in 'exaggeration' and 'non-literal commentary.' Fox persuasively argues, that given Mr. Carlson's reputation, any reasonable viewer 'arrive[s] with an appropriate amount of skepticism' about the statement he makes."

I guess he's gone now but I don't want to let this go without inserting some actual facts. The title and the article itself is a misunderstanding of the actual facts as to why the court case was dismissed. If the person had bothered to read the actual court filing that was linked in the article, he would have perhaps expanded his understanding. Court filing

1. Tucker was sued for defamation. From page 1.

2. The gist of being liable for defamation is publishing a statement that is false or brining disrepute or ridicule concerning the plaintiff which the speaker knows is reckless or negligent in not knowing to be false. page 7.

3. The ruling that dismissed the case is based on the difference between making statements of facts versus making statements of opinion. Making a statement of fact that she committed extortion would have made Carlson liable for defamation since she was never convicted of the crime. The defense was that no one listening to Carlson would have taken what he said as a statement of fact that the person committed extortion but, rather, it was a statement of opinion in the context of a political debate. Opinions are a protected right. From page 19.

I don't like Carlson either because I believe he panders. But I also listen to him because he does challenge the prevailing views whether conservative or liberal / Republican or Democrat. But simply swallowing a biased article's spin shows a lack of critical thinking and being uninformed. Ironic since the guy talked about "uninformed fringes."

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I expect the Deep State in conjunction with the media to launch an attack on Tucker. Make false allegations about him like they did with Trump and presto, he's gone.

^^^That may do that, and certainly wouldn't be a surprise to anyone paying attention, but he won't be gone, not a chance!

My opinion for what it’s worth: The CIA is a cesspool of corruption that has been allowed to operate with no boundaries for many decades under the cover of national security. With the protection from elected officials who have been purposefully compromised one way or another by the CIA. The death caused by them if we really knew would be staggering.

The CIA is the stealthiest and most hidden from the public, but it's the entire 'intelligence community' that has been politicized and turned against we the people. They have nullified the democratic process.

It will always be sold as “safety” from trumped up ideas of “domestic terrorism/extremism” whose definition will just keep broadening until it encompasses any and all political dissent... and in the late stages, it always goes the same way.

At a certain point, our own police and intelligence communities become what fundamentally amount to foreign actors. they are neither elected nor accountable, but they deceive, dominate, and determine those who are.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown
