does the $890 eat up your allowance too?

I would check out the 10 year comp. warranty Topherh mentioned.

If they made junk they should be held accountable for the duration of the warranty.

This...if they fix it, save the $$ for the next issue. It should get you through the year when your warranty resets...then you can buy a new Sig, or some other toy with the cash.

Whirlpools are rated pretty well. That's what I'd get.
