Well, I'm laid up with another kidney stone. I won't go into all the mess with that. But since I don't feel good, and I really don't feel like cooking, I have been eating a lot of eating heat and eat foods.

Frozen pizza being one of them. Some are fair, some surprisingly good. Some not so good. I always "dope" as my mom would say them up. I add some fresh things to them, maybe a sprinkle of Italian seasoning, mushrooms, extra cheese especially a different cheese.

I prefer thin crust, or traditional crust. Not a fan of thick crust.

So, I have been through a few different brands, and some are better than others. The question is what is your favorite frozen pizza?

Where I live, there is no delivery of any chain pizza place, so for pizza here you have the choice of frozen, make it yourself ( I don't feel like cooking ), or getting in your car and driving 20 minutes to pick it up ( which I don't really feel like doing ).

Besides frozen pizza, what are your favorite pre-made frozen food items?

I'm going to be laid up for a while, and I'm looking for easy and fast things that takes little to no effort to make, yet tastes fairly good.

But frozen pizza has been a life saver for me. Aww.... frozen pizza!

Well, I'm not sure what my favorite is. Jack's pizza is a good starting point to "dope" up. I like the crust.

Red Baron isn't too bad. Digiorno pizza isn't bad, but it has a thick crust, and I'm not a fan.

Kroger's has a pretty good one.


I like sausage, pepperoni and mushrooms. And ham, olive also is my pick.

Needs to have real pork sausage. If not that is a no go. Most don't. Making your own is easy and way better. That is my vote.

If you have Kwik Trips in your area their frozen pizzas are the best. Not their take and bake the frozen ones are what you want. Meat Sweats is my favorite along with the Kitchen Sink.

Also the deli section at our local grocery store puts together a lot of microwaveable meals and sandwiches that are good as well.

California Pizza Kitchen Margherita thin crust is a great base for some pepperoni on top.

Try Bellatoria for an ultra thin crust pizza. I like to doctor mine up, too..usually a little onion, tomato, etc

And a fallback to unhealthy, broke college days: loved Swanson chicken pot pies, and of course, ramen noodles- the noodles can be doctored as well- a little green onion, scramble an egg, soy, etc..
Quick and dirty was going to be white rice with a bullion stock cube added to the water. Little butter and salt..comfort food in a hurry for a pretty low price when you’ve only got pennies to spare.
Healthy and much higher quality options are out there: Marie callendar pot pies, momofuku noodles..

Home Run Inn. Their pepperoni is the best. But I am thinking of dropping frozen pizza from what I eat. I am thinking that it might just be the ultimate processed food that everyone tells us is bad for us.

Better Goods. It's a private label from Walmart.
My favorite is the Margherita. really good for frozen pizza.
Also pretty good is Porta. Found that one at Whole Foods. Kinda pricey though.

My vote is slightly different. I try to make good choices, and even cheating, I go for what I like the best.
Have a friend drop you off a couple of your favorite pizzas? Freeze leftovers?
One of my friends had a knee replacement. I smoked a Boston butt, and he ate off it for several days.
Good luck. My wife has had stones several times. Very unpleasant.

The name "Motor City" sounds vaguely familiar, is that the one they sell at Costco? If so then I've had it a couple of times, it's not bad but the crust seems a little too sweet.

Otherwise, the only one I've found that's worth buying is Paul Newman's Own. I usually add some extra toppings before tossing it in the oven.

Other than pizza, Boston Market frozen dinner entrees and Jimmy Dean breakfast stuff (all-meat burritos and Stuffed Hashbrowns). Some of the Marie Callender's stuff is fairly good, Stouffer's not so much.

Jack's Supreme with about 6 oz extra
Mozzarella cheese added to it is my go to.

I'll buy other more premium brands when they are on a really good sale. Most require extra cheese...
