I guess chips are flowing as has been mentioned previously. They had more new trucks than I have seen in 2+ years. So if the backlog of rigs that have been sitting waiting on chips are getting chipped up. We could have a perfect storm. What about all the late model used rigs jammed packed at these dealers? Yikes. Should get interesting. Maybe the forecast of the "new way" of dealers selling rigs was overblown, like just about everything else. With interest rates on the rise, ect. I suspect they maybe be doing just about anything and everything to move products for the foreseeable future. Of course I could be wrong. My guess the repo business is going to be robust to say the least. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

I am in market for new f150 platinum and they are scarce around here. So are the Nissan Titan platinum and the gmc Denali.

Every new car dealer around here looks like a used car dealer now. The one closest to me is proudly selling 2017 and 2018 cars as if they were brand new.

Recently I was talking to a service advisor at my local Ford dealership, he told me they're selling vehicles missing chips and installing them later when the received them. Seems people are willing ti have some of the options not work for now "Blessed is he who when facing his own demise, thinks only of his front sight.” Malo periculosam, libertatem quam quietam servitutem Montani Semper Liberi

My wife looked for a Honda Passport. The dealer must have some and not sold. The salesperson calls every two weeks asking for my wife.

Yeah, the Passport is a harder sell than the Pilot. I can understand Pilots with 3 row seats, families can justify that. But a Passport w/o 3rd rows... just another SUV for not that much $$$ difference. How does a buyer justify that?!?! I'm looking at a Ridgeline pickup as a second vehicle. The problem is gas prices... and parts shortages... and the pricing has gone up exponentially. I've been tracking and inventory is no longer zero, it's becoming double digits consistently. Plus, Honda the company is beginning to fall badly on the quality front. Disappointed in Philly, Dave

All the F150s at my dealership are marked sold in the window. There was a F150 Lightning however for 94500. Wow, add in Michigan’s 6% sales tax and you have quite a tab. I bought a wife a Ridgeline a few months ago. We had to order one back in December and it took about 90 days. When it came in the dealer tried to up the price on us after we had put down a deposit. We walked and called a dealer 1.5 hours away that had one in stock and beat our original price. The dealer that tried to screw us has several in the lot now. We bought the RTL-E model. Last two we owned were both in accidents and held up real well. They are great vehicles. We have two FORD plants here in Louisville, but the dealers are still with empty lots. NRA Life Member

The Ford dealer here has a lot of inventory . The Chevrolet guy across the street is a ghost town . Down the road the Mercedes place had a lot of SUV's . Mazda is barren ..

Inventory is still low in my area. The only vehicles on the lots are the most expensive versions. Prices on new and used trucks and full size SUVs have went through the roof. I don't know if I'll ever be able to buy a new truck again. No one's life, liberty or property is safe while the legislature is in session.- Mark Twain

We have a RAV4 Limited on order. Limited was the only way to get a power seat in the passenger side. I have a stiff back and neck, and the power seat drops low enough that I don’t have to dive into the car head first! What burns my ass is MSRP increased $6000 from 2021-2022. I don’t believe there were any improvements, just supply/demand market adjustment. We have had multiple conversations about canceling it. Sorry, I may have ventured off topic slightly…. TBH, I would cancel it and wait a few months. Dealer will probably drop the price to keep you on the hook. Just a guess. Things are going to go flat here soon. They will try to keep it propped up as long as they can though. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

Still limited inventories around here, but it's tough to tell for sure. Local Ford dealer is putting used cars on the new car displays at the front of the dealership, they're so low on new inventory. We've had 4 people in my office buy new cars in the last couple months (Silverado, Ram, Grand Cherokee & Sorrento). The Kia was the only one that had to wait for it to show up, the other 3 were off the lot buys. I've got the itch, but am in no hurry. Hoping to replace the Lotus project to keep my busy instead (and for less $ than a new car pmt). Plus, my wife's car is a year newer with double the mileage of mine (140k vs 82k), so she likely needs a new car first. The Enemy's gate is down.

I’m absolutely astounded by the number of cars/trucks/SUV pushing close 100k when fully loaded and some taxes added. Who on earth would saddle themselves with that ?! I can buy a dumpy condo in a lot of towns for that kind of money. Not too long ago if you told me a 100k car I could have assumed it was a Ferrari or Lambo. Now it’s a fully loaded truck or Jeep. no use for a third row designed for midgets that only takes up storage room. the passport has a slightly higher and more rugged suspension as well. Chose the PP because it suits my personal needs better than the pilot

Here in the Tampa area, for the past year or so, I’ve noticed a really strange deal of literally 1000s of cars crammed onto a few acres of land. They are obviously being corralled up to do something with but what, I have no clue and am just curious. Does anyone in the car business know what’s going on? Any other areas of the country where you are seeing this? They’re not new cars, look to be in great condition, and I’d love to know how to buy one if you’re able. Seems to be all manner and make of vehicles but yesterday I didn’t notice a preponderance of SUVs. The cars will disappear for a few months then in comes another slug. I’m talking several 10 acre plus vacant lots, parked bumper to bumper. I thought maybe something to do with the rental market but there are just too many to account for that I think.

I lost two cars in a flood on May 6. Still have the company SUV (4Runner) and the wife's GTI, so we're not hurting for transportation. However, I am shopping to replace my '19 GTI. It's been interesting. My '19 GTI SE stickered for $34k, and I bought it in early 2020 for $27k. The insurance company is paying me $38k for the GTI. Great! However, to buy that same '19 GTI with about 15-25k miles on it costs ... $33-34k these days. Sticker price from three years ago. Inventory is scattered all across the US. I will have to drive anywhere from 100-400 miles to get the one I want.

Before buying my pre def Dodge I was thinking of a new F350 crew with flatbed and the Godzilla engine. If things get bad enough maybe that may become a reality "Practice like you want to play in the game"
