Time will tell.

Do not underestimate your adversary.
Russia and China have been advancing in technology and power production at a much greater rate than the U.S.

They probably wouldn't work at all afterwards.

Neither would alot of other stuff though. Our ICBMs and theirs would pass each other in low orbit.

My concern is China’s space race. If they can get some maneuverable space vehicles to just drop a weapon down on a target then there’s just not much time to react.

Hmmmm, a new missile you say. Let's consider this is from a country where cars look like this...

And their navy looks like this.... (at least their 'one' aircraft carrier)

Something tells me that "state run" news agency press release is really all we know to know about this new missile.

That Russian missile is not leaving its silo completely under its own power. It is being propelled out like a bullet with some kind of explosive charge. How well the missile performs after being subjected to that is highly questionable.

It's called a booster, first stage to get it into the atmosphere.

The Russians use something call cold launch on a lot of their missiles. I'm not convinced this is one of them though. with could launch, a relatively low pressure charge is used to pop the missile out of the canister. Once clear of the can, the missile rocket motor ignites. A video is worth a thousand words (see below.) But OP video seems like a hot launch (where the rocket motor ignites in the can.

Cold Launch:

Of course, it doesn't always work.
