A) Has she suddenly taken an interest in cooking/making you sweet tea?

B) I didn’t realize women actually could be happy until I met the current one - and there will be a ring on her finger as fast as practical - realized I needed to give her one on the second date.

So let me offer this to right the ship and bring her back to unhappiness.

Sit on the couch and act relaxed. Take a nap. Take off your shoes and put your feet up.

That's guaranteed to make her unhappy seeing that you're not working on some list she made a long time ago.

Pondering my situation and how to react, and considering all advice given, I'm concluding she is feeling good about two things: a singing class she has been taking, and the upcoming community festival.

I think she has finally gotten some mastery of the singing and isn't so stressed about it. The festival is the biggest event of the summer at our lake community, or maybe equal to Independence Day.

Oh and thanks, I think.

If she’s the kind of woman who takes genuine joy in that kind of stuff, you’re a lucky man!

I think part of the reason why the current woman in my life is so happy, is she just doesn’t care about material stuff. She dresses well, etc, but she initiated specific conversations about how it’s wrong to be attached to any physical object.

(Some of that attitude comes from her growing up comfortably.)

Other than the heiresses, every other woman I’ve known is obsessed with trying to show “rank” via material display.
