I've been watching this tomato grow and ripen for the last few days. Today it spoke to me and said now is the time!

After the carnage

Yes it was awesome. You can debate the finer points..mayonnaise vs Hellman's. But either way, the season is upon us!

Oh, SURE! Rub it in... Big Grin

I can buy pretty decent tomatoes at the local-ish farm stand. They're inland enough that they get the heat-days necessary to ripen tomatoes.

I have some coming but it'll be at least two weeks yet here on the coast.

Oh my...

And perfectly cooked bacon to boot. It's gotta have some chew to it. Wink

I only did one tomato plant this year and I've got a few big green ones on it now, but it'll be awhile yet.

Great looking bread too, is that homemade?

The bread is Nature's Own...thick sliced multigrain. We really enjoy it.

May I present to you a grilled cheese BLT with onions.

Next is a bacon double cheeseburger.

I love tomato season! Although my cat and the squirrels have got most of my fruit. It's been a bumper crop, healthy, beautiful tomatoes.

One I just picked.

The grilled bread on the BLT is delicious, I can't believe I've never thought to try it before.

I harvested my first tomato from my garden on May 30th.

BTW, that is a good looking tomato.

That is a fine looking, meaty tomato. It looks like it may be an heirloom variety? Care to share the name of it? I may try to grow some if I can find seeds.

That's a good looking tomato, good looking bacon and a great looking BLT.

We had a cold spring and the crops are running a few weeks late, but my tomatoes are just starting to have a very slight color change.
I'm looking forward to having them in a couple weeks.
