Then you'll get a kick out of this.

I help with store displays in my spare time. One thing that we have to do is find stuff to put on scarecrows and mannequins. When a vendor gives us a detailed list, I get to chase it all down.

One of our regular clients specifies what shoes they want in the display. Included on the list was a $220 pair of Olukai Kai Po'i flip flops. They have since been discontinued, but I've had to find several pair, find someone in each size to wear them, and then pay them for wearing them until they are worn out. The gentlemen I have now are paid $150 to wear a $220 pair of flip flops. I was told we couldn't 'wear them out' with a belt sander.

Seems like the same shoes are in demand all the time, but we had another setup that needed two pair of Gucci flip flops. Lucky for us, they provided the flip flops, but I still had to find a guy to wear them.

Too old for it now, but sounds like I missed a good career move, getting paid to wear stuff until it looks old enough for a store display.

Let me know if you're looking for somebody to break in a Porsche Cayenne for a display, I might be able to work that into my schedule. Wink

Well screw it.

I have been in need of new pair of knock around sandals for 85% in the house and 15% in the yard. As said flip flops are a non-starter for me. Decided to take a chance on some Docker's Newpage sandals, which are said to be relaxed fitment, in EE (wide) hoping the adjustable straps will work for my 4E feet.

We'll see....

Aw man, don't I wish.

Most of the time I have to find crazy stuff like a Gimbal compass, Vibratone horns for March Madness, Transformers, an Underwood #5 made in 1919, Dinky toys, old war medals, all kinds of random stuff.

A Cayenne has never been on the list. Frown

Got them today and looking forward to breaking them in.
I opted not to wear them in the shower/get them wet for the break in.

Rainbow says just to wear them for a couple hours for a few days to get your foot set and then they will just keep breaking in.

I watched one video where a fella has 5 pair and he broke one pair in using the shower method. They broke in faster but says they are not as comfortable as the others.

Very good fit and feel great already.
The tops are a little slick but should loose the slickness as the leather breaks in and is more molded to my foot instead of just being flat.
The rubber soles are nice and grippy however I have not been on a smooth wet surface yet.

The red, white, and blue lines on the midsole are a very nice touch.

I got the brown and I think it is the best color is you are only going to have one pair as it will go with pretty much everything.

However, I see a black and gray pair in the future. Especially if they get more comfortable than they already are.

I wear Nuusol brand flip flops. USA made, light, float, and very supportive. I have wide feet. I learned to slowly keep stretching the “web” part a couple times before wearing while new. Gave some more room. They now have conformed to my feet. I really like them. Some styles are clearanced out right now for $19.99. Usually cost $39.99 or around that.

I've got a pair of these, and so far they are great!

Wore them 99% of the time in Costa Rica
I do a side job on a boat, so they are in and out of water. Nice grip on the sole, dry quick, and if they get "funky", toss them in the washing machine and air dry them...

Their other options aren't bad either!

Again not flip flops but FWIW those Docker Newpage sandals had sufficient strap length to accommodate my 4E wide feet.

Thanks for this thread! I’ve got a very old pair of Lands End sandals, have repaired them with Shoe Goo a couple times as the strap came out of the soles, but have been looking for replacement sandals for when these finally are too far gone. And I mean, these are 20 year old sandals! I wish I’d bought two pair when I got these, they have lasted me so long. Can’t find these exact pair any more either. I think I now have a couple good choices to check out.

m1009,
I feel your pain. My all time favorites were Bite OUTSIDER 6509 AFTER-SPORT leather sandals long ago worn out from heavy usage.
https://www.amazon.com/Bite-Or...Sandal/dp/B000E0RRNY
They had removable ortho footbeds and were very very comfortable. I bought them back in September 2007. Sadly Bite Footwear, a NW outfitter company, was acquired by Crocs on July 30, 2007, and their ortho products subsequently disappeared. Had I known I would have bought extra pairs before they disappeared but when my need arose they had become unobtainium. Frown
Haven't found anything that good since. Frown

These have officially become the best pair of footwear I have owned!
They are so comfortable.

Only small gripe is they live up to then and flip flop for sure.
