His family has taken everything off mine and my brothers property of value. Piled it up on their side of the fence and put up a makeshift gate in the only place that was open. That’s alright. Well is on my property so they better buy a lot of bottled water after today. Fucking crackheads. Needless to say I won’t be attending any service. 10 years to retirement! Just waiting!

That sucks. Make sure to document everything if you can since if they are being like this, they might choose litigation later. ___________________________________________ Life Member NRA & Washington Arms Collectors Mistake not my current state of joshing gentle peevishness for the awesome and terrible majesty of the towering seas of ire that are themselves the milquetoast shallows fringing my vast oceans of wrath. We had a neighbor pass away, lived in a pretty basic cabin near our lake property. He had two kids, one was a meth addict and not only did he empty out anything of value in under a day, he stripped out all the copper as well. Crawl space, walls, cabinets, all of it. Holy shit some people just suck. Sorry you're having to deal with this, but sounded earlier like you were expecting as much. You only have integrity once. - imprezaguy02

Vultures! Blood is thicker than water, money is thicker than blood. My dad is almost 84 and in good health. He gave me his watch collection, my brother got his Porsche [He needed a car]. Everything else goes to his wife. None of that BS when he passes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Yidn, shreibt un fershreibt" "The Nazis entered this war under the rather childish delusion that they were going to bomb everyone else, and nobody was going to bomb them. Sorry for your loss and I’m sorry for the stress this is causing. Thankfully my parents are still with us and my brother and I have great relationships with them. And my brother and I have already discuss that when the time comes, if there is anything left over then it will be liquidated and split evenly between us minus any cash to be given to the church or other specific persons in their estate directions. Dad already gave my nephew one of his nice Martin guitars that’s ok none of the other grandkids can play. I’ll get the guns. My daughter, the only grand daughter will get most of the jewelry.

Gone but Together Again. Dad & Uncle |
Sorry to hear this. Like others said document everything "just in case". To share a story, the last remaining parent of one of my spouses life long friends passed away. There were a total of 4 children. While 3 of the children were at the visitation and burial 1 sibling was absent. Afterwards the 3 siblings went back to their parents house, and got the shock of their lives. Everything was gone! Apparently the one sibling had an army of movers/trucks and took it all while the others were at the visitation & burial.

They said, that’s what he wanted. Yeah, when he had 4 tumors in his brain killing him. He also sat in his chair naked saying he was on a job site somewhere. “He wanted all his stuff on his property”. Okay, I’ll pile up the 80 yards of trash and put it over there to, that’s his. If he, “wanted everything separate between the kids” then that means the GD water too. We don’t want nothing he had, that’s the sad part. They took scrap metal for crying out loud. But left all the trash. And put up a fence. Fuck em. 10 years to retirement! Just waiting!

Always a good idea to have someone watch the house during events like weddings and funerals. It's not just family that will take advantage. ================================================ Ultron: "You're unbearably naive." Vision: "Well, I was born yesterday."

When my dad died (no will) one sister of mine took everything of value under the guise of "He gave it to me before he died" which was total horseshit. While she kept the items, their value was taken out of her share of the estate. She was pissed that she didn't get to keep the stuff AND get an equal of share of the remainder. Death brings out the worst in people.

Thank you Very little |
People would be amazed at how common this stuff is, too bad there were no trail cams up, pictures go a long way to put trespassers and thieves in jail anything they took belongs to his estate not them. I'd be inclined to file for executor and then press charges just for the hell of it.. make them put it all back, and then trespass them off the property seeing that you and the brother are Next of Kin with no spouse. Sell his property and divide up the proceeds between the two sons. Then again, like you said, sometimes it's best to walk away if you don't want to deal with it, they can't sell the property without court appointed executor or take title to it.

Is this to say: his siblings?

My sister is executor of his will, but I don’t see her as someone who would do things this way. So I’m assuming it’s his sisters and step son. My guess is, they viewed me and my brother reentering his life so recent as if we wanted something from him. I don’t need or want his property or meaningless items. It just strikes me as awfully greedy to perform all the actions he said he wanted when his mind was GONE, then pass it as “his wishes”. None of them uprooted their family to take care of him. But I honestly won’t lose sleep over it. I’ve known white trash for a long time so it’s nothing new to me. 10 years to retirement! Just waiting!

Dear OP - I'm so sorry that things worked out like that for you. My dad left me two bent-iron C-clamps, a scratching awl for cleaning welds, and a tobacco tin of nuts and bolts. And a lifetime of memories of a man I loved and respected above all others. This message has been edited. Last edited by: tacfoley,

I don't expect that my two sons will fight over whatever is left . I don't plan on leaving a whole lot to fight over anyway .
