Picked up some .45 and .556 value boxes today. A guy in the ammo line was excitedly telling his buddy that he had just picked up a clean used pistol and was looking for some 38 Super. I laughed. Pragmatism: the relentless pursuit of seeing things as they really are.

I was thinking about this last night as I watched SRS with Christian Craigshead. I have a metric ton of ammo and gobs of .556, 9, and .45 magazines. Only problem, they weren’t married. Spent the time and stuffing magazines. NRA Life Member "Do what you can, with what you have, where you are." Teddy Roosevelt

Para speaks the truth. I never feel I have what I need and every month buy a little of something. My biggest regret is AK ammo. I have a good amount and always thought it would be cheap as hell and plenty available as it was. Then now AK ammo is freaking expensive and I sure wish I had bought more back when. There is no too much of anything. As I get older in age I can always start selling some stuff off for money if I want as I have no one I plan to leave anything to. NRA Benefactor Life Member

I regard the M855 "green tip" as more of a "specialty" round. I still have 150 rounds of it. Is that "enough"? One "feeler" has been put out in regards to banning it.

Brown Santa (aka UPS) DELIVERED 500 rounds of .45 ACP TMJ and 500 rounds of .45 ACP JHP last week. Today is payday so time for another purchase! Still debating what the purchase should be, but lead case is some more 6.5 Grendel. If you find more at the right price (or price you can afford), it was the standard issue round for all branches of our military for decades. I am not saying it is the best 5.56mm round available, but it is a viable round to keep on hand and has a track record to make worth using if need be.

Not that it makes any difference whatsoever for civilians, but the M855 round was so well thought-of that the special operations forces requested a load with a different bullet for dealing with actual dangerous, committed enemies. “Most men … can seldom accept the simplest and most obvious truth if it … would oblige them to admit the falsity of conclusions … which they have woven, thread by thread, into the fabrics of their lives.” — Leo Tolstoy

I "bought cheap and stacked it deep" around Sandy Hook and the 2016 election (I built a 'Hillary Hedge Fund') but then cut way back on shooting during Covid madness. Now that I've decided to resume shooting (a suppressor is about to be bought) I checked ammo stock. I was happily shocked how well I was stocked. I'm less than 1K in only one caliber, 300BLK, so that's on the shopping list now. Thanks for the reminder.

After I gathered my thoughts of blue wave dismay this morning, I heard a small (Para) voice whispering in my ear; “What have I been telling you, Outnumbered”? Thusly, I finally obeyed, and got off the fence, dusted off the credit card, and headed on over to targetsportsusa . Got my order in, and heard the voice once again; “well done grasshopper, well done”. Several hours later, and I checked back to see that certain popular bulk items (cases of 5.56) were showing MUCH lower available quantities on their website. Don’t delay, good ladies and gentlemen; you know that after the prices ratchet up, they likely won’t come all the way back down.

I buy out all the 22 there is lately. Now I will stock up on 5.56 and 9mm. Absolutely grab up all the NFA items tax free while you can. I guarantee the next tax will be absolutely punitive. ____________________________ Eeewwww, don't touch it! Here, poke at it with this stick.
