I could have a great time running for office - with the strict understanding that I not be elected/if anyone goes dragging up any skeletons to embarrass my family members/old flames I might lose my temper.

I would make a terrible elected official. At my age, as hard as I try I have a hard time relating to the x or y or whatever generation is in favor these days and I'm pretty sure I'd go off on them at some public event. So no, keep my ass out of politics and the country will be better off.
