The only thing that bothered me was seeing civilians running behind an active shooting.

Are these the same people who do not maneuver their vehicle off the roadway as an emergency vehicle approaches?

Wow, what a hell of a chase and outcome. Any stats yet on how many rounds were actually fired? Amazing no other collateral damage to those other folks in the area running from the scene.

Well, personally I have never been walking down a quiet street in Atlantic City (or anywhere else, for that matter) eating an ice cream cone, talking on my phone and scratching myself only to have a gunfight break out in front of me. I like to think I'd hit the deck, preferably behind a car, or dive into an alley, or duck into a store, but I might just stand there dumbfounded thinking "holy shit, instant gunfight!"

Unlike a fight you are involved in, something like that, totally unexpected, you might have a pretty tough time actually figuring out where the fight was, and how best to shelter from it. I honestly don't know how the hell I would react.

You are correct. I am hoping when and if this happens to me, I have a huge and massive hard-on that no one can mistake for anything else. That will be my last statement. It will be monumental and epic. Kind of like the thing with John Dillinger in the morgue, but much more apparent and well, just bigger.

Not a peace sign, but a cigarette in his left hand; he walked out of the car with it, the muthafucka just couldn't let it go Big Grin. Hard to tell, but at the end, looked like one of the cops shot the cig out of his hand Red Face

Smoke 'em while you got 'em.

Perhaps he was attempting to flash the universal "You're Number 1!"?

on a related note, AC is a complete shit hole, we have a beach house two towns down from there and avoid it like it's the middle east. Outside the areas directly surrounding the casinos, you couldnt pay me to walk around at night

Worst ass kicking I ever got as a cop was a little guy on PCP.

In the day my partner and I were both about 6'2" and 225. Answered a call about someone on the runway at the local airport. Guy was 5' nothing and about 100 pounds.

He was on PCP.

It was like trying to capture greased lightening. In the end, my partner knocked him out with something; PR24, tree branch, something.

Ahh, Atlantic City

The place with the wanna-be-ritzy-Vegas-like facade on the block facing the beach...and directly beyond that is 10 blocks of straight up ghetto.

In college myself and a RA fought a little guy who was choking one of the female staff members. When the campus police arrived, he fought them as well. Couldn't stop this kid.

Guy was maybe an 8th grader or freshman in high school on PCP. Right before the police got there we were able to spray pepper spray directly down his throat. Took about a minute for it to have any effect at all, and only lasted about 5 minutes before he was right back at it.

All's well that ends well, though.

Maybe I want a .50 Beowulf for a truck gun now.

Did you notice that his SUV drove itself away near the end, because the gray car it was pinned against finally moved forward?

I bet the gray car's driver had a complete urinary incontinence episode. I would have.

f I remember correctly, he bailed out on a restaurant bill and the local LEO' were called. They tried to pull him over but led to a chase that brought in multiple towns, which ultimately led to him pulling a gun while the chase was on, then exited with the gun and being sent to Thugville on the express train.

If he walked a check at Golden Corral, certainly that high speed chase was entirely justified. There are some things society shouldn't tolerate. And some things are worth dying for, if you're a moron like Antoquan. Wink

Were those 9mm rounds? I still prefer .45acp or hot 10mm rounds.

You could see missed shots ricochet off the street toward the folks walking by.... scary shit.

From NJ.com :

quote:
The chase began after police received a report that Watson had brought a gun into Pleasantville's La Esconda II Restaurant, where he was a regular customer known to employees.

A waitress at the restaurant stated that Watson ordered two beers and paid with cash after two credit cards failed, and that he appeared drunk and was mumbling to himself, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. Several patrons reported seeing a gun in Watson's right hand as he paid the bill and left the restaurant, and said he pointed the gun toward the ceiling, but did not threaten anyone in the restaurant or aim the weapon in their direction.

Police responded to the restaurant's parking lot and attempted to speak with Watson, who allegedly refused to roll down his window and eventually took off on the Black Horse Pike.

In the dash cam video, officers pursue Watson's black SUV through city streets and along highways as he runs red lights and swerves around other drivers. He led officers through Pleasantville, Egg Harbor Township and Atlantic City, driving between 50 and 85 miles per hour and firing a round at officers while driving, authorities said.

Are you kidding me? WTF? This is from a US-based holster manufacturer??

Alien Gear, you'd better get your head out of your ass, and you need to do a better job of who has access to your facebook account. As it stands right now, I wouldn't use one of your products even if the damn thing was given to me.

Earlier today an employee made a post asking if it was ever ok for a police officer to shoot someone 45 times.

I am very sorry to all those offended by our post. Furthermore, I am sorry for the non-apology that was issued shortly thereafter.

I haven't seen the video and have no opinion on the matter. It was one employee’s opinion framed as a rhetorical question and is not an opinion shared by me or this company. She is new here and it's my fault that we didn't spend more time training her on the difference between her opinions and those of our company.

"She is new." Uh huh. "She" is clueless. "She" has no business working in the firearms industry.

Control your account, for God's sake.

Your company may make superb holsters, but I'll never find out.

I watched the lengthy chase and subsequent perforation.
My only question: Are Stop Sticks in short supply in AC? At the beginning of the chase, an unmarked Crown Vic was waiting at an intersection for the chase to approach. Stop stick time! And I realize that Stop Sticks are not instant chase terminators, but in this case it may have shortened the duration. But its a minor point, I guess.
