Now that is entertainment… Just give us fun…something to appreciate, something to talk about with others, something that puts a smile on our faces. _____________________________ Pledge allegiance or pack your bag! That was really good. Carson lucked out on picking such a good player, and I loved when Tolley started yucking it up. The danger of baobabs is so little recognized.

I remember this. Johnny was the pride of Norfolk, Nebraska (pronounced Norfork, for reasons known only to the residents there). He was funny and classy at once. Johnny was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran, who was commissioned an ensign late in the War. He was assigned to the USS Pennsylvania and was in Guam when the War ended. Ed McMahon was a USMC pilot and was a flight instructor on the F4U Corsair for 2 years. He received orders to the Pacific Fleet in 1945, but the bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. McMahon remained an officer in the Marine Corps Reserve and was called to active duty during the Korean War. He flew a Cessna O-1 Bird Dog, unarmed single-engine plane and served as spotter for Marine and Navy artillery and FAC for Navy and Marine fighter-bombers. He flew 85 combat missions and was awarded 6 air medals. He retired from the Marine Corps Reserve in 1966 as a Colonel. I never watched late night tv again, with the possible exception of a handful of Leno and Letterman shows. Late night tv is unwatchable now. _______________________________________________________ despite them

Bet David dressed differently the next time on the show. _________________________________________________________________________ “A man’s treatment of a dog is no indication of the man’s nature, but his treatment of a cat is. What was obvious in many of the lead-in clips was Johnny Carson was quite comfortable making fun of himself. Jimmy Kimmel thinks he's above being made fun of and takes himself so seriously. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Both videos are from David Tolley's youtube channel. He's a pretty remarkable but low key guy. https://www.youtube.com/@David.L.Tolley "the meaning of life, is to give life meaning" ✡ Ani Yehudi אני יהודי Le'olam lo shuv לעולם לא עוד
