You have to dodge needles as you walk, and hop and skip over piles of feces in the streets, but don't smoke an e-Cig because it's unhealthy, WTF!

San Francisco Set To Become First Major City To Ban E-Cigarettes

San Francisco is on the verge of outlawing the sale, manufacture, and distribution of e-cigarettes within the city. City supervisors voted unanimously to approve the ordinance to update the city's health code. The ordinance is set for a final vote next week and is expected to pass, which would make San Fransisco the first major city in the country to ban e-cigarettes.

City officials say that they are trying to curb the "growing health epidemic of youth vaping."

"This is about thinking about the next generation of users and thinking about protecting the overall health and sending a message to the rest of the state and the country: Follow our lead," Supervisor Ahsha Safaí said.

A recent study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that nearly five million middle and high school students had vaped in 2018.

E-cigarette company Juul, which is based in San Francisco, issued a statement saying that the ban will not do much to stop young people from vaping.

"But the prohibition of vapor products for all adults in San Francisco will not effectively address underage use and will leave cigarettes on shelves as the only choice for adult smokers, even though they kill 40,000 Californians every year," said Juul spokesman Ted Kwong.

Shoot up with heroin? No problem. You don't even have to find a trash can for the needle. Just toss it on the sidewalk.
These people are truly bizarre.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Where is the clinical data that vaping is unhealthy, particularly as compared to smoking? If there were clear dangers with vaping, we'd be seeing some of it by now. As a vaper, evidence I've seen is misleading, ignorant and dishonest, mostly coming from the giant tobacco industry for obvious reasons. TBH I think I'm a little more in tune with this stuff as a vaper. I have no doubt I'm healthier after trading cigs for vapes and what's going on in SF has nothing to do with health.

If SF wants to limit, curb, or, curtail e-cigarettes, they should apply a tax to it like what's been done to regular cigarettes.

* JUUL is a brand of e-cigarette that is shaped like a USB flash drive. Like other e-cigarettes, JUUL is a battery-powered device that heats a nicotine-containing liquid to produce an aerosol that is inhaled.
* All JUUL e-cigarettes have a high level of nicotine. According to the manufacturer, a single JUUL pod contains as much nicotine as a pack of 20 regular cigarettes.
* News outlets and social media sites report widespread use of JUUL by students in schools, including classrooms and bathrooms.
* Although JUUL is currently the top-selling e-cigarette brand in the United States, other companies sell e-cigarettes that look like USB flash drives. Examples include the MarkTen Elite, a nicotine delivery device, and the PAX Era, a marijuana delivery device that looks like JUUL.
* Additional information about USB-shaped e-cigarettes and actions that parents, educators, and health care providers can take to protect kids is available at CDC’s Infographicpdf icon [PDF – 1.2MB]

Juul is quite popular with high schoolers, and according to close friend who's a GP, its concentration of nicotine is off the charts. It's concealable, and is treated as much as an accessory as it's an addiction device. While I'm not in favor of bans, I would be in favor of taxing it, much like any other regulated item or, consumable, in order to limit its public exposure.

You vaping, right in front of me, well your exhale is just vapor and usually smells of something pleasant. Totally different than cigarettes. My goodness Kalifornia is so fucked up. SJW central if you ask me with silicon valley totally infiltrating the city and turning it into their own.

Smoking weed is legal in California so wtf is the point of this shit?

Perhaps I misread, but it seems the big deal here is banning the sale of e-cigarettes, not just vaping. What a terrible precedent.

Maybe they should fix the human poop problem first.

https://www.foxnews.com/us/san...uman-poop-complaints

"The details of the complaints that the San Francisco Department of Public Works has received are unclear, but data shows the number of sightings has increased dramatically since 2011. That year, 5,547 human feces incidents were reported. The number rose to 28,084 in 2018."

My guess is that’s not a nicotine vape cartridge in them

Majority of people I know that vape in the “legal” states have THC cartridges in them

Well they passed legalization for THC in Kalifornia earlier. Give freedoms then take it away. Hypocrites.
