Apparently they were just trying to capture him.

Now the cartels are closing off roads and burning businesses.

It's gonna get crunchy.

I'm in Cozumel right now (live here). Not much going on here. A supermarket caught on fire, this morning. The fire Marshall says it was a short circut. There is a ton of stuff on the internet. It seems most of the violence is in Guadalajara and Puerta Vallarta. Nationwide dozens of cars have been set on fire and many busses. In Cozumel they closed the food festival and some stores closed. But at least here, it is more hype than reality.

Puerta Vallarta is being terrorized as well, their airport is shut down. There is an advisory for U.S. citizens to "shelter in".

Well this is going to be fun watching Trump order the Rangers and SEALS to smash these cartels once and for all. It’s WAY overdue.

I am comfortable with the United States to continue to supply intel to the Mexican army so THEY can do the dirty work. Iran is a much greater concern than Mexico. What are you suggesting a reprisal of the Magnificent Seven?

I'll watch, but the US going into fix that is a suckers move. Yes our Special Ops guys could easily smoke some cartel, but it goes deeper than that.

Mexico needs to get pissed off enough to fix their own corruption. A few years ago the good cops went to arrest the corrupt cops and they had a shoot out inside the terminal of the Mexico City airport. They need to fix their culture. Unfortunately there is so much $ in the drug trade it's really hard to combat that.

I get the whole "When the streets run red with blood, buy real estate", but I'm gonna wait until the dust settles on this one.

It IS Mexico, afterall.

I'll throw another saying out there:
"Nature abhors a vacuum".
So who's next? Does the Mexican Government have enough strength to hold this position? Or is it going to be taken over by the next Boss of the next Cartel?

Like I said, I'll wait until the dust settles before I buy Casa Grande in Sayulita.

Yes.
The cartels make a billion dollars a day. Mexico doesn’t have an answer to that.

This is similar to my assassin squad method of combating tyrants and the like. Only difference is that no one knows who did it so no specific revenge targets. Take out the leadership one by one.

This. Otherwise, it will be another Afghanistan.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." The average person in Mexico is poor and has no viable means to fight back against a DTO or corrupt government officials. What do they use? Broomsticks and sandals? Mexico is a beautiful country but the citizens have no means to fight back.

US should follow what Bibi did to the armed terrorist Hamas 7 Hezbollah. Locate the cartel enemies and send in rockets.
