Not wishing for anything. Just a simple fact.

Wishing the best for our neighbors and people in the neighborhood.

This of course is yet one more demonstration of what inevitably happens when evil people are permitted to get away with their evil acts for an extended period because, “Can’t we just get along?” Whether it’s allowing riots and other illegal acts in this country because the Left believes it will solidify their voting base or people on the Right saying, “Yeah, they were justified in invading a neighboring country because they had an historical right to the land,” sooner or later the things that “will have no effect on us” will indeed have an effect on all of us.

But for anyone who believes that we should get involved in another war that wouldn’t be “forever” because DEVGRU or Delta would wrap things up in a day or two, I recommend learning a little about what’s happening in Mexico. The Cartel members are scattered across the country and according to what I heard, they have armored vehicles and crew-served weaponry. And yeah, yeah, they have nothing like what the US could bring to the party, but even good guys will be dying.

I tend to agree cutting the head of the occasional snake isn’t going to get the job done. Drug business is so embedded in the culture there, it will require a wholesale change in leadership, and top down changes in military and police ( which often support the cartel )
Rampant corruption and the thousands of people employed by the cartels would all have to be eliminated for any meaningful long term difference- a lot of bodies stacked before change could really occur and be sustainable

This is why we need to

A) Disband the standing army - tempts our political class to be stupid.

B) Start insisting that the right to self-defense, on the international stage, is every bit as fundamental as freedom of religion.

Mexico has to stop being Mexican, to fix itself. Most of the Mexicans we know, are Christian refugees/Tejanos. They are very different than the majority of Mexicans.

The Mexican Army has been owned by the cartels for a long time. The Zeta cartel came out of the last time we trained up a unit for Mexico.

Arm the populace, let the angry fathers of Mexico kill off the animals/realize they should kill off most of their political class as well.

It's hard to fight what you can't see, it's not like they're wearing uniforms.

Some actually are. Not all, but the larger cartels have organized standing armies, complete with uniforms, distinct insignia, heavy weaponry, armored vehicles, etc.

Given all the various data mining, etc - it seems hard to imagine that it would be that hard to tag/identify most of the cartel.

I'm sure the bosses may be smart enough to keep all electronics away from them, etc - but it can't be that hard to have a complete social map of them, given what friends were doing in Afghanistan, many years ago.

Went once, crossed the footpath border at Acuña/Del Rio while in USAF. Saw everything that I needed to see about Mexico. I have never had a desire to go back to Mexico. Mexico keeps coming to me at ever taco stand in my city; that’s more than enough.

You'll be fine in Cabo, not a lot of cartel activity there because it's simply not a good stop over for anything.

I was in Puerto Vallarta last week, guess I got in and out just in time. I'm not concerned and I'll be going back to Mexico at least once more this year I bet prices will be bargain basement.

College boy is scheduled to go spelunking in Playa del Carmen with one of his geology classes in three weeks. We’ll see how that plays out. For the first time ever, I bought trip insurance a month when I helped him book the plane tickets.

Your contradicting post.

WE don’t need to anything.
THEY need to do something.

Here’s something to think about from the “WE” standpoint-
Name a country WE haven’t fucked up in the last 75 years.
We did an amazing job walking out of Afghanistan. Iraq is looking soo much better. With our track record, what makes anyone think that WE won’t fuck this one up too?

It’s not about whoever is / isn’t down there.
IF- (and it’s a big IF) whoever is down there, they better remember one of the first rules-
Don’t get caught!

If the word gets out that the Pinche Gringos had anything to do with this, or future events in the region against other Cartels- a bunch of people are going to be pissed off!
I really can’t think of any recent time that the Mexican Government hasn’t been compromised. It’s not hard to do that shit here either.

Here’s a situation people should be aware of:
Just a quick question, how many illegal drug users are there in America? Millions? Tens of Millions? Anything ranging from full blown crackhead / Tweaker / Junkie to the casual / recreational crowd.

Nuevo Generacion is THE Cartel importing Fentanyl into the US Market, amongst Heroin, Cocaine and Meth.

Nuevo Generacion says “Fuck the Gringos!” (It’s more like “Chinga”, but now ain’t the time for a Spanish lesson) and steps on say 1/4 of their product (cocaine, heroin and meth) with enough Fentanyl to drop a horse, then pumps it north to the US. Randomly… a few kilos here, some there, one or two over there.

How many overdoses does that come out to here?
Then comes the “who”. Think about that one for a minute!

And before anyone asks the question of “WHY would the NG Cartel do that and fuck with their customers?”
To prove a machismo point- “Don’t fuck with us!”
