With regard to the Mozambique title I believe it has been credited to Rhodesian mercenary Mike Rousseau who told the story to Jeff Cooper. The original incident took place during the Mozambican War of Independence during fighting at the Lourenco Marques airport. Rousseau armed with a Browining Hi-Power shot a guerrilla twice in the chest and followed with a shot to the head when the guerrilla didn't stop. As far as I know there was no body armor present but I seem to remember reading in one account a mention of a chest rig with loaded AK47 mags that posed the problem for the 9mm. I have come across the story over the years and often no mention of body armor or chest rigs are made, simply that the two shots to the chest didn't stop the threat.

If you haven't seen the video mentioned in the OP it's worth a watch. Clint Smith is a hoot to listen to. I think the big take away is fight hard, dirty, and don't stop until you win or as been stated previously in this thread continue until threat is stopped.

Interesting observations.

He was a “chairman” of sorts, but his being commonly referred to by that title was probably intended to be ironic and even a jab at the worshipers of the more famous Chinese Chairman. That was also in an era when people were much less likely to develop the vapors as a result of being exposed to single words, but I nevertheless always thought it was a little odd that he himself obviously accepted being referred to that way.

People who are constantly surrounded by adoring fans and admirers who hang on their every word often become convinced, at least subconsciously, that they are in fact infallible and that there could be no possible reason for anyone to doubt them. Although I was sometimes annoyed by the supercilious attitude he often displayed and was never among his loyal followers, I never had reason to believe he ever told any deliberate untruths. On the other hand, it’s common for such people to also believe that no one would ever dare mislead them. I can readily imagine a conversation in which someone would simply nod knowingly as he was told about a particular shooting drill and its supposed origin and purpose.

That’s all ignorant speculation, of course, and none of it matters in any important sense, but it’s the sort of thing I find interesting to contemplate in my efforts to understand my fellow human beings.

This life is a drill. It is only a drill. If it had been a real life, you would have been given instructions about where to go and what to do.
