She’s 19 now turning 20 this spring. already has her private pilot’s license, her instrument rating and will have her commercial rating at the end of this semester. She has the ambitious goal of having her bachelor’s done next year when she turns 21.

One of the funny things is her school flies the Piper Archer, she’s earned the nickname The Archer in the Archer.

That's awesome! Sounds like shes on track for a great career!

The Glock 19 is a solid option. The Gen 5 is adaptable enough with the interchangeable backstraps, and it'll do everything she needs it to do while still meeting the FFDO requirements. No, it's not as nice as your Dan Wesson, but it's pretty much the institutional standard and like a lot of us who carry a gun for a living, she'll soon learn that just because she has to carry something for work doesn't mean she can't buy other nice stuff to use own her own time. It's just a tool too meet the requirements, but at least it's a good one.

I talked with the Armed flight officer. He stated you are issued a Glock 19 Gen 5 with night sights, stock trigger, and three mags. That is the only weapon you are allowed to carry and they do bag checks randomly to make sure you are only carrying the issued pistol.

Having another G19 set up the same way so she can carry off duty and practice with a similar setup might not be a bad idea.

It's a great idea. An FFDO is eligible for Glock blue label pricing.

At Kieslers an FFDO might be eligible,
