The Tiny town High School is starting a "mail stuff to the armed forces over seas " effort, to be mailed out in January. What ten questions do I need to ask the person in charge ? I e-mailed the lady in charge of the business class at the high school, The students are doing all the collecting and soliciting . The, they are running what they collect up to some guy in Rockford ,who is sending the stuff too troops that are from our general vicinity . but facts and figures about who is getting what , how much and such are not available. From my experience, we would have lots of donated stuff the Chaplain would set out. Anyone could come and take what they wanted/needed. My 2 cents: Keep in mind that our folks are pretty well fed. We can buy some junk food items at the local PX/BX on the established bases. We're given a checklist (I'm retired USAF)prior to deployment. This ensures we bring enough articles of clothing/equipment, etc. I got a huge kick out of letters sent by kids - it really warm my heart.

[Slight drift] If you would like to donate to the soldiers, I found operation paperback to be a charity easy to get behind. I read a lot and was able to share books with others interested in them. At the time I did it, you requested based on genre of books available and the organization matched you with a soldier or base desiring what you had to share. [/slight drift]

I think if you donate stuff, it will go into boxes and direct to troops. If you donate money, some of it will go toward stuff. Endowment Life Member, NRA • Member of FPC, GOA, 2AF & Arizona Citizens Defense League
