Sheesh! I'm surprised the progressives in CA haven't thought of that already.
You'd have to pay them $50/hr!

Think bugger. Way bigger. $700k up front plus $25k annually to house them in San Francisco.

That’s assuming they’d actually choose to work.

Of course there are.

There is just no willingness to actually arrest and prosecute either.

It's collapsing. As is the state.

Enjoy the view.

They're already doing this in Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES — As this city tries to cope with thousands of people living on the streets, a few homeless and low-income senior citizens will be luckier than most next year.

They will receive keys to one of 72 new apartments, complete with a fitness center, in the heart of trendy Koreatown, built at a projected cost of $690,692 for each unit, according to the city controller's office. Two additional projects in the pre-approval phase are expected to top $700,000 per unit in total costs.

I've got a friend out there, worry about her often.

If I were dictator for a day, I would round up all of these degenerates and ship them out to Alcatraz. Alcatraz would have no heat or electricity. Supplies would be dropped once per week. Let them duke it out Lord of the Flies style.

I have no desire to "change people’s views about those who commit crimes". I am willing to speak of criminals who have completed their penance with the term "former felon" if that would make them feel better. And if they have shown that they have actually turned their lives around, I'd even accept "reformed felon". (You can tell I'm not much of a softie about this . . . .) IMO, once they've been incarcerated they have to be watched--not treated badly, just watched.

The SF board of supervisors tried to hold an open meeting on the drug crisis.

It didn’t go well.

They keep throwing money at the problem and nothing gets fixed, but no one ever cares who really ended up with the money. I'm sure the answer is family, friends and political sponsors.

Won't make any difference, not one dot or iota will change while stupid people elect other stupid/evil people. People with shit for brains can't help anybody, proof itself that shitheads are, well, useless as a pile of shit. It's hard to clean up shit when it looks exactly like the stuff leaking from your ears. I don't know how to put it more politely.

What they do is provide great services, which attracts new homeless from all over the country. They count the homeless occasionally, and are always amazed at how many the "miss", because a later count is much higher. The stupidity is strong in this Democrat city.

You mean like Mini-Para comet ? Not a normal full sized Para comet, just big enough to clear out a medium sized parcel in SF, so that whoever is left over can see how nice a fresh clear space is, before new democrats moved in. The hard part would be proper targeting, but maybe it it wouldn't make much difference as long as the Golden Gate Bridge is still standing. Imagine a fresh clean space with the GGB standing in the middle, ready for new people who hate comets.
