I would do as recommended and run half way and then add more good gas. It can't hurt to add Lucas Ethanol and Fuel Conditioner either.

Not sure on the year of your 4R, but don't put in higher octane if it's a 5th gen. Takes multiple tanks for the computer to adjust to it.

Well that sucks, my older f150 was getting to the point of needing major service, timing chain, trans rebuild, etc. and opted to move on to a new vehicle vs repairing it considering the cost of all the work was equal to the value of the truck or more. 20+ years was a good run.

Gets down to do you drop $5K in an old truck or get something new using the $5K on it, or less.

There was discussion on whether to just get a new car, but I opted to repair based on the low mileage (44K miles on a 33 year old vehicle), and the fact that this is a family car that was the last one owned by my father.
