*1 Except for the form factor, Cheez-It Extra Big are the same as Original.

*2 An excellent pretzel in the form of a cracker. Each piece is an oval, 1-3/4”x1-1/2”x1/8”. Member Minnow introduced them to me. The salt is in the dough, so doesn’t rub off. Not available in my stores so I order them directly from Utz:
UTZ Sour Dough Dipping Daisies

*3 Another excellent pretzel in the form of a cracker. Also baked-in salt. Each piece is a rectangle, 1-1/2”x1”x1/8”. There are three flavors: Sea Salt, Honey Mustard, and Cheddar (my favorite). I buy individual boxes at Whole Foods, but they’re also available on Amazon:

I've tried their other varieties or flavors and keep coming back to the originals. And Cheez-It had some funny commercials. (sorry, no embed)

I had preferred Nabisco Cheese Nips and Tid-Bits.
Sadly, both have been discontinued in the US.

I love Cheez-its! I switch between them, Triscuits, Wheat Thins, and actual pretzels. I also really like Blue Diamond Flax Seed Nut-Thins, but I must reserve them for my birds. For some reason the Flax Seed Nut-Thins are like crack to my birds so I buy them only for them.

Did you know you can get a couple of boxes of the extra big Cheez Its, mix up a recipe of the Chex mix butter and seasonings and make a whole batch of baked Chex Mix flavored Cheez Its? I highly recommend it.

I liked the duoz bacon and cheddar cheezits. And the original flavor as well. Saltines otherwise.

I’d vote this “thread of the month” for introducing a fascinating topic to forum: cracker rotation.

I recently purchased Wheat Thins Sun-dried Tomato and Basil. Delicious, will buy more for my cracker lineup.

Obviously you are not concerned about Sodium and it's effect on Blood Pressure. I have Heart Disease and am concerned about Sodium. I limit my Daily Sodium intake to 800-1200mg per day. Also take 1/2 tablet of Lisinopril per day. Blood Pressure averages 65/115. At 71 that's not bad at all. However 15 years ago my blood pressure came in at 160/85 and that is when I got serious about Sodium.

Triscut. Has just one truly low salt version that is almost never in stock at Krogers. CAn't remember what it was called, it's been too long since I found it.

Cheez-It. Actually not that bad at 200mg per 1 ounce serving. However that is a once per week treat at most.

UTZ Dipping Daises. Looked at the web site but 330mg per serving is suspect because they don't list the serving size. If it is something like 6-8 crackers we all know that we all will concume more than that and 330mg is just too high.

Pretzels. In any form they are heavy on salt and much too high for Sodium will be consumed at a setting m content. The only exception was a hot pretzel stand at a nearby mall that offered sourdough pretzels and they would do salt free if asked. Those were wonderful but I have always been a lover of true sourdough breaded products.

BTW, you have been around long enough I suspect that you are on blood pressure medications and coping with the side effects. If you get serious about limiting your Sodium per day you can probably cut your dosage in half. I will also note that Kettle Brand potato chips are offered in a No Salt version and after a week or two you will find that the No Salt chips actually taste better. Because you can actually taste the potato.

I've stopped counting.

Try saltines w/o sodium. Your blood pressure will improve.

You’re correct. When I have blood work sodium is near the lower end of the recommended range, or even below it.

My GP reduced my Lisinopril from 20mg to 10mg and now 5mg per day. The 5mg tablets are scored so that they can be cut in half. Currently awaiting that order…
