Your regulators are bad. I have to replace mine about every 2-3 years. He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster.

timely thread, picked up a tank to use one of those heat wand weed burner thingy's to melt some asphalt/tar strips on the cracks in the driveway, worked great on the first run, gas ignited, steady flame, and when you squeezed the switch, flame shot out like a jet, like is was supposed to, second go round, and no go, got a flame, but just a puff when the switch was depressed, tried again the next day and the same, tank still has plenty of gas in it, will try the above posted methods and see how that works https://chandlersfirearms.com/chesterfield-armament/

How fast are you opening the valve? If you crank it open too hard/fast you can activate the safety mechanism. I always open my valve slowly and carefully fully open then back down a quarter turn.

After some experimentation, the resets didn't make any difference...still no flow. But....I took a hard look at the insides of valves on both the old/good one and the new/cranky one.... Sure enough... The June tanks with bright, shiny valves had their workings deeper into the guts of the valve, enough deeper that the difference was visibly obvious. And that gave me an idea. So, I connected the hose, used the regular amount of hand-tightening (still nothing) but then kept overtightening in hopes that deeper engagement might eventually get the gas flowing. And, that worked. (Good thing as I was about to go beyond hand-tightening and get medieval on the beast in the name of science.) My guess is that the contractor making those new valves got some tolerances way wrong on the valve body castings so that it takes a lot more thread engagement to get the mating parts together enough to let the gas flow than it should. Anyway, that's my finding. If at first you don't get flow, tighten, tighten again.
