I'm not an electrician - I don't have the skills most of you have. ![]() I have a ceiling fan / light switch that is broken. I bought one of these these to control the fan (I'll use a separate switch for the lights). I don't understand install step #6, sub-step #4. I understand hot, neutral and ground. What is a load/tagged wire? https://www.lutron.com/Technic...tLibrary/0301911.pdf "Wrong does not cease to be wrong because the majority share in it." Step 4 has you "tagging" the "load" wire. It looks like that's the "hot" wire to the fan. Assumes it's not a 3-way switch. Thus the metric system did not really catch on in the States, unless you count the increasing popularity of the nine-millimeter bullet. - Dave Barry "Never go through life saying 'I should have'..." - quote from the 9/11 Boatlift Story (thanks, sdy for posting it) | |||

Ah, thanks. Got it. And neutral from the fan goes directly to neutral; doesn't depend on neutral via the switch. Duh. Got it. Thanks much!
