… the University of Richmond School of Law. The good news is admission came with a scholarship that covers tuition fees and books. The bad news is she’s becoming a lawyer. Nice is overrated "It's every freedom-loving individual's duty to lie to the government." Airsoftguy, June 29, 2018

Sorry she has to spend time in Richmond for it. Seriously, though, congratulations to her. Go, Spiders! Politicians seem to have forgotten that they work for us, not the other way around. — — — — — — — — — — — — God bless America.

Congrats I think it is a great school I attempted to apply there for the fall semester to obtain another BA in a completely new field but was told no. I lived by the school for 18 years and used to run through campus about 4 days a week. It looks really neat since they moved the football stadium on campus. There used to be a lot of sandwich shops and restaurants near by but Henrico and Richmond is determined to destroy it and over build that area. (Even though everyone has fought against it)

Serious question. At 30 years old, is she been a professional student? Good luck to her. I wanted to go to law school. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I was 30 when admitted to Yale Med School. Their generosity made it possible for me to have free tuition, and for my wife, with boys 3 and 1, not to have to work. The rest was loans and their tuition postponement program. I wasn’t a professional student, I had been working. Because we were financially independent of our parents, we had no income if I wasn’t working. Amazingly it worked out better for us economically than if I had gone to UC Davis, another possibility. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

No, out in the work force since she was 18. Graduated VCU at 21, with no meaningful school debt (what there was, is since paid). Nice is overrated "It's every freedom-loving individual's duty to lie to the government." Airsoftguy, June 29, 2018

Congratulations! Suggest she try to clerk for a Fed district judge or SC judge if possible. Also, after clerking, join the Federalist Society and participate.

A gentle word of advice from another Esq. Day one, week one she will be intimidated, full of self-doubt and most assuredly thinking this is the worst decision she could have ever made. My first night I was assigned 408 pages to read, I knew right then it was a mind F, nobody could read that in 2 days Of the 120 kids I entered 1L with 100 Graduated. 18 quit and 2 failed out. Everyone, and I mean everyone who meaningfully tried, and stayed, passed. Month 1 is psychological hazing done by true professionals. Recognize that it is a game, play along as you need to, but find the resolve to keep going forward. For the sotas (Student Over Traditional Age) this was especially true. They had the highest drop rate. I wish I had known this going in, it would have made the first semester much more tolerable. By second semester you get a groove and start to understand what the teachers want and expect. Congrats, it's a worthy profession and having a little life experience before law school is a really good thing. __________________________
