Currently my cordless stuff is just kept in a bunch of soft tool bags.
Looking to get a pack out set, likely the Craftsman ones as they are a good price and made in the US.
Looking to do more than just toss them all in there willy nilly. Looking at some sort of divider setup or foam.

Any ideas or suggestions?

By pack out, do you mean you still want to put them portable? Milwaukee and Ryobi both make Packout kits, but some are not portable (shelving/racks) and some are portable (e.g. tool boxes). Both are pretty clever systems that are highly expandable and highly adaptable/configurable.

The Milwaukee and Ryobi systems are pretty pricey and new, so I've kept on the same storage path which is quite different. I value easy to find (i.e. don't want to be rooting through boxes and bags to find the right power tool) so I have non-mobile power tool organizers:

wall mounted power tool organizer. It combines slide in hangers for power tools with a shelves for the chargers and batteries

Ryobi One+ Lanyards that connect just like battery and I hang from overhead shelving. I have about a dozen of these.

I just grab what I need, toss in a 5 gallon bucket, go do my project, and return to it's highly visible storage. In my 24 years of buying into the Ryobi One+ ecosystem, I think less than 5 times I have ever used one of their soft bags that came with some of the purchases.

Years ago Ryobi came out with the "Six Pack" that was a portable workstation. This had a mounted compound miter saw, a drawer with 5 inch circular saw, Speed Saw (Roto-zip), reciprocating saw, drill and flashlight. A second drawer held 3 batteries, charger, and saw accessories. The door even had formed pockets for a bit kit for the drill.

They don't make them anymore, but I really wish they would bring it back. It was a great little "do most things" kit to have handy.

I guess it is an ever expanding category. I am looking at the large rolling bottom box.

I use the 5 gallon bucket method too but bought a few cheap harbor freight fabric tool bags that have worked but I am up to like 5 now.
My cabin is 2 hours away and always tends to give me an expected project so it all
comes with me.
Just looking to consolidate but also just don’t want to throw them loose in the tub.

Well, I never knew these were a thing, but now I need some. It means I can clear off a shelf to use for something else, and just hang them from the shelving unit instead.

I've been using them since '08 back when they were blue and yellow, and have been adding to them off and on since. I was pretty proud of myself in '08 as I went from just parking my truck in the garage to being able to park my truck and a car in the garage.

OttoSig, that's awesome. I printed a bunch of battery holders but never thought of hanging tools like that. Did you make the file?

I use the dewalt version. I got away from all the tool boxes infavor of the drawer units accept where the size is needed for bulky items. I have steel shelving on wheels in my garage that I keep all my tools in the tough system on the shelves. The shelved tough system units for smaller tool storage acts like a tool cabinet on the steel shelf in the drawers.

When I need to go help someone I just load up the tools I need and roll out.

Black, I use the Milwaukee PackOut system and have Kaizen foam inserts for them. Is that along the lines of what you were thinking?

OttoSig, I see a business opportunity for those tool holders. You need to figure out a price and put an ad in the classifieds. I'd buy some for my Red tools.

After seeing this thread, you got me wanting one. I have increased my cordless tool selection this year and have too many tools in too many different bags. I am going to pick up the Milwaukee and try and fit everything together in one place.

Kaizen and STV, Shop Trailer Van, both make some stuff for that and Kaizen sells foam and accessories to custom fit etc. I’m looking at some SYV cabinets for small parts and gun parts. https://stvracking.com/

Those battery holder mounts are cool too, I need some.

Currently, I use Ridgid tool boxes and have a mix of DeWalt and Milwaukee just loose in them. Many places on Etsy and others make hdpe dividers for various boxes or you can cut some out of 1/4” stock. Wood or hdpe. Hdpe is easily to work with.

I use heavy duty 12gal storage boxes, black with yellow tops that I found at Menards. On sale they are $9 each. For me, the "packout" boxes are way too heavy when filled. Currently there are five of them full of my 18v and 40v Ryobi tools. These are organized by type of tool and written on lid with a sharpie on duct tape.

I have a few similar storage totes for tools from Lowes. They have a variety of sizes including 5/15/17/20/27 gallon at $9-$11 each, and then bigger 40/50/60 gallon ones for more.

The large pack outs have wheels. Only time weight comes into play is lifting in and out of the truck. Trying to have everything in one nice set.
So I am not carrying 5 or so boxes/bags to and from the truck constantly as I am doing now.

Back in 2021 during the covid non sense, I got a great deal on some Packout gear. Northern Tool had a big sale on Milwaukee items, and they sent me a coupon code to get an additional 10% off including sale items. I remember trying to find the cheapest items they sold to get each purchase just over the threshold to maximize the discount. I got all the Packout tool boxes here, including 2 rolling chests, with tax for just shy of $400. The tool tote my wife got me for Christmas.

I am not in the trades anymore but I do handyman jobs for family and friends from time to time, and lots of my own DIY projects. These are great for loading up whatever you need and being able to move them effectively. They are well made and will definitely last me probably forever. I would buy them again. The only thing I don’t like is the large rolling box will not fit under my tonneau cover in my truck. I have a crew cab Tundra so it has to go in the back seat.
