You're sheltering-in-place like the conscientious American you are. How will you exploit this temporal windfall?

I'm watching aikido videos and learning new moves. Finishing up some minor wood projects. Picking up some new Instant Pot recipes.

How about yourself? Besides surfing the forum with your imaginary friends, how will you keep busy?

Playing guitar, cooking, car maintenance, building a quadcopter, playing chess online... Stuff I never seem to have time for.

As planned before the SHTF, I'm working from home (conducting an online training). This will last two weeks. About the same amount of time it was recommended I self-quarantine after traveling abroad.

Since my life hasn't really changed, I'm still running (and today I rode my bike), playing guitar, cooking, and enjoying my normal pursuits.

I’m not sheltering in place. No order has been issued here and I wouldn’t obey it anyway.

I'm working from home. I do have a little more free time as I don't have to commute 40 minutes each way. I'm using that to get a bit more sleep.

Same as Waterbury Bob except, I get ready at the same time and make myself a nice breakfast instead of driving.

If the stay-home order comes from work, then I'll work online as possible. Otherwise, I've got plenty to do. That list starts with:

* change the shocks on the truck
* clean up the workbench
* walk the dog
* clean the home office

God bless America.

I haven't been out of the house since Tuesday the 10th morning when I got prescription refills and groceries. As a retiree I'm rather accustomed to hunkering down so no biggie here. Enjoying my stereo, home theater, computer, great coffee, a dram or two, light reading, and indoor pellet gun shooting. Big Grin

Studying for recurrent training in a week. Just did a home crown job on the G34 that came back from some frame work, and a little reloading. A pile of brass is crying out to be resized and deprimed. Got taxes done today, headeding out for a pneumonia shot tomorrow. Packages mailed, one more to go. Tomorrow modify the truck electrical with a cutout, and maybe an oil change if motivated. And a lot of studying. Then non-stop back and forth to China, I think.

I work from home full time anyway. So I feel like everyone just joining me in my normal routine! That said, it's been very busy with coordinating contingency plans for my employees all over the country, dealing with client needs whose business's are suffering and involved in countless calls to understand the path forward assuming a pretty certain recession in the short term.

Long days for sure but I've been spending the evenings working around the house, working on the car and finishing up projects I've been meaning to get to. I'm also taking the opportunity to cook healthy meals instead of running out for takeout and it's been great. Lost a few pounds already.

I'm finally getting around to building the media cabinet/storage drawers/bookcases that I designed 8 years ago. I had all of the materials sitting on my garage floor when hurricane Isaac flooded my neighborhood in August 2012. While my house didn't even come close to flooding, the garage is over 2 feet lower and had just enough flood water to destroy all of the materials I had.

Anyway, I had bought the materials again last year and now I've finally had the time to start getting it done. That area of the house was clearly meant for a built in... so...

This is the rough plan. I tightened this plan up some and also made cut sheets to take into the shop with me so I know exactly what sizes and features I need to cut and how many of each I need. My wife changed the base units on the sides to drawer bases but I didn't make the change to the rough drawing.

We glued up the two book case units today but I haven't taken any photos. Some of y'all might remember my son building a nice chess board that I posted about not so long ago. Well, he's been helping me with this one as well where he can. I'm going to teach him how to make shaker style doors soon. what I REALLY hoping is that he turns out to be real good at painting... Wink

Yeah, my wife won't roll with me either. You can also go to https://www.digitsu.com/specials.html and get any of those instructionals for free too. You gotta love the BJJ community.

Spare time?

What is thing of which you speak?

Between working, working some more, trying not to catch the virus, packing, cleaning, staging, selling a house, applying for mortgages, finalizing a divorce, and looking for a new place to live, I barely have time to sleep, let alone come up with new things to do in my "spare time". Big Grin
