OK I watched it. It did not make me laugh which is my criteria. I guess it is just West Coast stuff. As a rule, I do not like advertisements. I do think the Mayhem guy is funny, but that is about it. Sorry.

West Coast has nothing to do with it.

The entire ad is one big reference to the cult classic comedy film "Office Space" from 1999.

So if you've never seen that, it wouldn't make sense.

That's a different song. The song in the commercial is in the movie though when Peter goes into work after being hypnotized I think.
