For those that have interest in motor sports this is a big event. The story of Martin Truex's wife is a tough one. Prayers for her and her loved ones. And any young people dealing with such things. Lord cure them all please. Amen. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

Man I haven't seen Tony Stewart in a while...when did he adopt the mafia don look lol. He is still my favorite driver. Wish he was still racing.

I think Sherry Pollex is still Martins girlfriend and they haven't tied the knot yet. Still, I wish her well. Jim ________________________ "If you can't be a good example, then you'll have to be a horrible warning" -Catherine Aird

Somebody had to pull an all nighter to get the fence fixed. Hopefully they won't focus on three drivers all day, but at least we are rid of those damn Waltrips.

I had the last half of the race on, but didn’t watch very closely. It’s been awhile since I’ve watched NASCAR, I didn’t remember that the pit lane was such a dangerous place; there was one real close call with a pit crewman almost hit, and one or two other incidents not quite as close. I’ll add, I think the announcers should dress business casual at a NASCAR event, white shirts and ties?!? _______________________________________________________ despite them

Looks like Brad was able to wreck most any car, only to have his old team do a lot better.

I think the "Don look" adopted him. He's still racing, but as an owner not a driver. I think he does drive a few non-NASCAR events (off road, sports cars, etc.) every year. I found it amusing when they were talking about how fit the drivers are these days that Tony said his workout routine was getting off the couch to walk to the fridge, presumably to grab a beer.

IMO that was a lousy race, crash after crash after crash. Obviously the new car is a complete failure, do any bump drafting and the result is a pile up. If I had paid to attend that mess I'd be asking for my money back. I've stopped counting.

Thank you Very little |
Enjoyed the race, packed house, all seats and rv slots sold, Daytona was full of people out in the free Florida air spending money, having fun, with great 70 degree days, excellent stuff. Good to see the rookie win, he did well on that last lap speedway racing is something different. New cars have some things that require a learning curve, the single hub nuts, forged wheels, independent rear, looks like all caused some problems during the race. Noticed that in most of the wrecks that the rear suspension in cars broke, the one toward the end it looks like the left rear broke at 190 mph going down the straight and turned the car right into the wall, that will have to be addressed. Forged wheels break, they don't bend, you make a mistake and you might not get back to the pits like you could on the old steels. They do look good, Listening to the talking heads, there was a problem with bump drafting from off makes, Fords could bump Fords and Toyotas, and visa versa, but the chevys were not working well with other cars. That's superspeedway racin glad it's back

They'll need to address the issues before Talladega in April and that's only 2 months away. Jim ________________________ "If you can't be a good example, then you'll have to be a horrible warning" -Catherine Aird

I never realized there was a big Nascar race in Dayton (Ohio).

Thank you Very little |
Yep, and CA is opening back up so they'll be running there next weekend, different kind of track, after they are a few races in and then all the issues will be prevalent. T hose problems with the wheels will have to be addressed, by either NASCAR or through teams getting better with installing the wheels and central locking ring. Not sure what can be done about the disparity in pushing from a technical standpoint, other that drivers getting used to what they can and cannot do, when, where, how hard. It was clear Kyle Busch knows how to properly push a car to the front, as did Blaney, Kyle was also pushing a Toyota, and a Blaney was Ford on Ford. It seems that the Chevys were having issues, but not sure why or if thats really the situation but it was happening throughout the field.
