dsietsHey bendable,
I've wondered about this also as I ditched my failing flip phone earlier this year and picked up a Moto G Play 2024 real cheap.
What I've found is an app I have NOT tried out but it's rate 4.3/5 stars over at google play called "Contacts".
https://play.google.com/store/...gle.android.contactsOr, if you put something like "bz" in front of all your business contacts so it reads "bz Gary Powers", all you business contacts would be at the end of the B section of your phone, but still in order.
Paying attention to what the experts have to say.

dsietsHi again Bendable,
I think I may have found a better way.
I think our phones are similar but on mine, if I ignore the phone icon on my start scree and instead, swipe up--> then Contacts, it shows "All contacts v " at the top. Also there is a label tag type icon.
Tap the label icon --> "+ New Label" (under device, not your google account) --> Name it "Business" or whatever and save it.
--> open a business contact --> pencil icon at top to edit --> scroll down to "Add to Label" --> check box for "Business" --> Save
Exit out --> open Contacts--> "label" at top --> "Business". It should show only those labeled as such.
I hope that can work for you.
I was having problems because when I searched on how to do this, I was using the term "groups" or "directories" instead of "labels".
The downside is now you have to repeat that tens of times and but just remember to do this w/ your new contacts, it just takes a couple seconds.
It's possible my os android 14 is too different.

PerceptionWhat's your goal? I think most phones I've seen recently allow you to designate whether a number is a personal or business number.
